Equal pay for equal work? It all works out by the end, right? While
the rest of the world unknowingly sat on the threshold of home
computers and the Internet, I helped build some of that
telecommunications infrastructure. That career choice rebuilt me
including my frame of mind. After naively majoring in software,
computer programming, I secured a job. In that technology, the guys
weren't totally ready for me to 'break the ceiling.' I landed in
that field when society still believed that math and logic skills
were born in men, only. In short, my narrative takes you down my
career path and memory lane in an extremely exaggerated fashion, or
does it? While reading this hysterical, I mean historical novel,
keep in mind that I might have made it all up. Some of my
ex-management and employers might suggest that I exaggerated. If
you agree with those guys, that becomes their exoneration from the
'group of men behaving badly' that I refer to as 'the good ole
boys'. My goal is to give the reader a glimpse of the past- my
past. In briefs, I mean in short, I'll allow the court of popular
opinion to decide the merits of my case against some, but not all,
men.
