A Brain is For Eating is a beautifully illustrated, playfully
twisted book that teaches zombie children how to find their next
meal. It's a survival guide for the underserved youth of the
post-apocalyptic population. The color illustrations accompanying
the story are the work of artist Scott Brundage, whose drawings
regularly appear in The Wall Street Journal and Scientific
American. Scott places the book in the context of a of a long
tradition of dark humorists like Edward Gorey, or Bill Watterson of
Calvin and Hobbes. "It's really a book for human adults," admits
Brundage. "But I'm sure there are some mature, non-zombie kids out
there who can appreciate the macabre silliness of the story."
Humor, science-fiction, counter culture.
