My parents bought me this set for Christmas. I absolutely adore them! Tolkien is a legend in the Fantasy-genre. The box set looks amazing on my shelf. The books are bound in a synthetic leather-cloth. The display box is very sturdy and is also bound in the same material as the books. Please note: The books are "pocket-sized", meaning that they are very small in size (consequently the font is very small as well). This set is very inexpensive and it makes for a very pleasurable reading experience!

I picked this set up on the Black Friday sale, and I am very satisfied. Yes, they are very small as mentioned in a previous review (you can hold the entire set in one hand), but the books are very pleasant to the touch, and their small size is convenient for my daily commute. The small text size does not bother my youthful eyes too much. I'd definitely recommend this, because I am obsessed with the bindings and the stories themselves, but purchasing an edition with a larger text size is probably better in the long run. All that being said: I couldn't find this specific leather / fine binding anywhere else locally. Thank you for this!
