Seventy-year-old Margaret Brooks has been obedient since childhood
and barely knows how to think for herself. Bullied for decades by
'Mr Brooks', Margaret gets no respite after her husband dies, for
her daughter Rebecca carries on where he left off, dominating
Margaret's life. Everything changes for Margaret one autumn day in
the park when, by chance, she meets Walter, also in his seventies,
and his mischievous dog Ted, Walter and Margaret strike up a
friendship that takes them on a journey of discovery and holds the
