Return of the Ice Men is an historical fiction based loosely on the
lives of Halcrow and Laurence Humphrey. Captain Halcrow Humphrey
departs from his home in the Shetland Islands to sail to the
Hudson's Bay Company in Rupert's Land (Canada), leaving behind
Christina Laurenson, the woman who loves him. He signs with an
expedition commanded by the famous explorer, John Richardson, to
investigate and explore the icy waters of the Arctic in search of
the North/West Passage. Back in the Shetland Islands, Halcrow's
brother, Laurence, helps Christina pick up the broken pieces of her
heart. He knows that she is still in love with Halcrow, but he has
been in love with her for such a very long time that he tells her
that he will wait for her as long as it takes. This is a story
about new beginnings.
