Die heutigen Rahmenbedingungen einer kommunale Wirtschaftsforderung sind einerseits durch die europaische Integration und anderer- seits durch die Internationalisierung des Handels gepragt. Solche Anforderungen beschranken die Moglichkeit des souveranen Instrumenteneinsatzes der Kommunen zur Forderung ihrer lokalen Okonomie. Deshalb soll der Fokus innerhalb dieser Arbeit auf die kommunalen Instrumente und deren Stellenwert im Zeitablauf gesetzt werden. Des Weiteren findet die mikrookonomische Standorttheorie aus Sicht der Unternehmen ebenfalls ihren Platz in dieser Ausarbeitung. Als Bindeglied dieser zwei grossen Themen, kommunale In- strumente zur Wirtschaftsforderung und der mikrookonomischen Standorttheorie, wird auch auf die Existenzberechtigung eines solchen kommunalen Eingriffes eingegangen. English: Subject of this paper ist the promotion of the local economy which is deeply related to the topic of location development. Basic conditions for the promotion of local economic development is influenced by the European Union as well as by the globalization of the market. Such regulations minimize the options of independent usage of instruments to boost the local economy. Therefore, the paper focuses on a description and a critique of the tools which communities can use and their effetcs in the long run. Moreover, the microeconomic location theory from a company's perspective is addressed. To link both aspects a close observation of the options is to be made
