English summary: The study investigate the reasons for this
extraordinary career, which at the time of the Austrian
Vice-regency (1707-1734) reached its highpoint. Colorful ceiling
frescoes in the palaces of Viennese nobles' gives evidence of
Solimena's wide-spread fame as much as his figure-rich decorations
for the churches of Naples. For the first time these chief works
are submitted to thorough analysis and against the background of
new sources are understood as complex designs, which opens up a new
view of the professional self-fashioning of Solimena. German
