Business and banking problems that spread nation-wide in the United
States, such as that we are enduring now, have all been caused by
government and its regulations. From 1819 to 2007 there have been
22 major downturns and in every instance, government, operating
outside the limits set by the Founders, caused the problem. There
have been many failures of businesses and banks and many examples
of improper activities, but absolutely nothing business has ever
done has affected wide areas of the economy; business failures have
only affected the company, its associates, and customers or
clients. The economy of the United States of America has surpassed
that of the rest of the world because of the free-market system and
its protection by the Founders limits. As an engineer during the
1860s and 1870s, and my work with other nations' engineers and
manufacturers, it was obvious that we were substantially ahead of
Europe and the rest of the world in technology and automated
processes. And it has been widely acknowledged that we are
fortunate to live in the United States, but details have been
lacking on how fortunate -- and what bought it about. This book
explains the makeup of the market place, describes the successes it
has brought to the country, and explains why. It also examines the
current economic problems, explains how the government caused them,
and proposes changes in regulations that would minimize them in the
future. It also explains the international regulations that caused
problems for nations overseas. Government, working outside limits
set by the Constitution, has caused all the problems. The book
explains what enabled the activities, and proposes changes in
governmental makeup to minimize past problems and others.
