Contemporary racism, sexism, and heterosexism all share an important feature: they rely on less overt forms of discrimination that preserve, protect, and mask the power of the dominant group. In this context, racism is colorblind, sexism is gender blind, and heterosexism is sexuality blind. This, however, creates all manner of issues for people of color, women, and LGBTQ+ folks who must navigate a culture that sees discrimination and inequality as a thing of the past. Indeed, despite the multitude of legal, social, and political advances made by these groups, inequality continues to persist, but often in a more subtle, covert, and often invisible manner. The articles in this volume originated from lectures given in two meetings devoted to the Samaritans. The first was the sixth conference of the SociA(c)tA(c) da (TM)Etudes Samaritaines, which took place at the University of Haifa in July 2004. From the very beginning it was realised that quantum physics involves radically new interpretative and epistemological consequences. While hitherto there has been no satisfactory philosophical analysis of these consequences, recent years have witnessed the accomplishment of many experiments to test the foundations of quantum physics, opening up vistas to a completely novel technology: quantum technology.
