Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.
Reputation is the most complex asset of an organization. Despite
the call for consistent management of corporate reputation
comprehensive approaches to measure and steer a company' s
reputation are still in their infancy. Reputation management aims
at creating a balance between stakeholder demands, perceptions and
corporate reality in order to foster behavior that helps a company
achieve its business goals. It needs to be based on thorough
research and requires orchestrated execution through management
processes across organizational units, communication disciplines,
and countries. This calls for a management system to establish a
closed cycle of strategic planning, implementation, performance
measurement, and reporting. The book gives answers to the following
questions: What is reputation and which conceptualizations do
exist? What are the state-of-the-art methods and tools to measure
corporate reputation? What are best practice examples and future
trends in the field of corporate reputation management?
This topical book is the first publication that focuses on the
impact of the CCCTB project on relations between the European Union
and third countries. Although the CCCTB system will only be
applicable within the European Union, it will also have
wide-ranging impacts for non-resident companies.The book considers
the impact of the CCCTB from the perspective of non-EU-based
enterprises that are carrying on business in the EU through the
operation of branches or subsidiaries in member states. It
incorporates the perspectives of leading scholars from all over
Europe as well as from third countries such as the United States,
and provides in-depth analysis of the key aspects which would
affect third countries, such as: withholding taxation, taxation of
transparent entities, and transfer of assets to third countries.
Corporate Income Taxation in Europe will provide essential insights
to academics, practitioners and policymakers in the field of
taxation. It will also interest those looking ahead to future tax
reforms in the EU, or considering how a similar model may be
applied elsewhere. Contributors: K. Andersson, K. Becker, Y.

Exit Narratives examines what constitutes good teaching and engaged
learning and how to use this knowledge to support teachers in their
efforts to create learning environments that encourage academic
mastery and nourish students as social beings. The authors explore
a range of issues: why they became teachers, their first years of
teaching, what worked for them, the micropolitics of teacher
interactions, becoming proficient teachers, as well as their last
year of teaching and what they did next. These former teachers took
a stand in their careers to create a better environment for both
teaching and learning.

This volume contains the papers presented at the Third European
Symposium on electrochemical engineering "Electrochemical
Engineering and Energy," held on March 23- 25, 1994 in Nancy,
France. This meeting was organised by the Laboratoire des Sciences
du Genie Chimique, CNRS, and the Centre de Perfectionnement des
Industries Chimiques, in conjunction with the Groupe Fran ais de
Genie des Procectes, the Society of Chemical Industry, Dechema, and
the European Federation of Chemical Engineeling. The organisers
would like to thank the members of the Scientific Committee for the
careful selection and refereeing of the papers. We are grateful to
all contributors for the thorough preparation of their manuscripts.
Thanks are due to the International Society of Electrochemistry,
District Urbain de Nancy, Region Lorraine, Electticite de France,
Institut National Poly technique de Lorraine, and CNRS for their
support. The meeting was devoted to the role of electrochemical
engineeting and its relationship to the general issue of energy.
The twenty-four papers contained here represent new research
results and the potential technological developments in a variety
of impOltant and relevant areas of the field. The remaining three
papers are expert reviews in areas of current technological concern
where electrochemical engineering can clearly be seen to have major
relevance to energy policy and environmental protection.
As personal technology becomes ever-present in the classroom and
rehearsal studio, its use and ubiquity is affecting the
collaborative behaviors that should underpin actor training. How is
the collaborative impulse being distracted and what kind of
solutions can re-establish its connections? The daily work of a
theater practitioner thrives on an ability to connect, empathize,
and participate with other artists. This is true at every level,
from performing arts students to established professionals. As
smartphones, social media, and other forms of digital connectedness
become more and more embedded in daily life, they can inhibit these
collaborative, creative skills. Turn That Thing Off! Collaboration
and Technology in 21st-Century Actor Training explores ways to
foster these essential abilities, paving the way for emerging
performers to be more present, available, and generous in their
work.
