Well educated, Jewish, and an ambitious competitive figure skater, Jo Ann Schneider Farris did not fit the profile of a convert to fundamentalist Christianity. Yet within sixteen months of being approached by evangelical Christians as a senior at Colorado College, she had changed religions, married a Christian, taught full-time at a Pentecostal Christian school and lived in a Christian commune. A lifetime of prayer meetings and bible studies seemed inevitable.

Years later she joined the ranks of the Christians she admired the most, Jews for Jesus missionaries. Not long afterward, her life suddenly seemed to shatter as she was dismissed as a missionary. Through this painful experience she learned she could lose her religion and get a life at the same time.

In diesem Werk beschaftigt er sich mit der Entstehung von Affekten und Gefuhlen. Er geht davon aus, dass alles, was unsere Seele erleidet durch naturliche Zusammenhange, also rein mechanisch wirkende Vorgange, ablauft. In seinen Ausfuhrungen versucht Descartes folglich alle korperlichen Funktionen, die zu den verschiedenen Gefuhlslagen fuhren und seiner Meinung nach mit ihnen notwendig einhergehen, darzulegen. Zudem stellt er die These auf, dass alle Emotionen Wirkungen auf den Menschen, seine korperlichen Reaktionen und Handlungen haben, die gut oder schlecht fur den Lebensalltag sind. Inwiefern die Leidenschaften fur uns nutzlich sind und auf welche Art und Weise wir auf sie horen oder sie lieber beseitigen sollen, mochte Descartes in seinem Werk aufzeigen. Das Thema der Emotionen ist kein einfaches und wurde nicht nur im 17. Jahrhundert thematisiert. In der antiken Philosophie wurden Gefuhle in erster Linie in ethischen Debatten angefuhrt. Gefuhlen wurde kein hoher Wert zugesprochen, es galt sie zu zugeln, um moralisch korrektes Handeln zu ermoglichen. Wer sich am wenigsten seinen Gefuhlsregungen hingab, galt als starker und ethisch korrekter Mensch. Viele Denker zur Zeit Descartes, im 19. Jahrhundert und noch heute, debattieren schliesslich weiter uber Gefuhle, entwickeln Descartes' Positionen weiter oder widersprechen seinen Behauptungen. Daruber, dass Gefuhle einen bestimmten Nutzen fur unser Leben haben, sind sich aber heute die meisten Philosophen einig. In diesem Zusammenhang stellt sich die Frage, inwiefern die Vernunft bei der Entstehung und der Erhaltung von Gefuhlen eine Rolle spielt. Denn sind Emotionen fur uns nutzlich, beurteilen sie scheinbar Sachlagen und informieren uns uber Situationen, in denen wir sie empfinden. Grundpositionen europaischer Ethik von Platon bis Kant, 10 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Gegenstand der folgenden Hausarbeit ist die Fragestellung, wie das Sonnen- und das Hohlengleichnis Platons in sein Werk der Politeia" einzuordnen sind. Dazu soll zuerst der Inhalt des Gesamtwerkes kurz dargestellt werden, um einen Uberblick zu geben. Anschliessend werden beide oben genannten Gleichnisse beschrieben. In der darauf folgenden Einordnung dieser in das Thema der Politeia sollen sie in dem Zusammenhang auch interpretiert und miteinander verglichen werden. Neben den eigenen Aussagen Platons sind dabei auch Forschungen anderer Autoren hilfreich. Insbesondere Oswald Utermohlen hat sich bereits mit der Bedeutung der Ideenlehre fur das Gesamtwerk der Politeia beschaftigt und diesbezuglich mehrere Vergleiche zwischen den Gleichnissen angestellt. Zum Schluss werden einige Gedanken dargelegt, warum Platon fur seine Argumentation Gleichnisse gewahlt hat, anstatt kurze und eindeutige Definitionen zu geben. Dazu werden Analysen erarbeitet, wie Gleichnisse und die bildliche Sprache auf Leser oder Zuhorer wirken. Erkenntnisse des Autoren Bernhard H. F. Taureck, der sich speziell mit Metaphern und Gleichnissen in der Philosophie beschaftigte, konnen bei der Beantwortung dieser Frage besonders helfen

In der Strafprozessordnung gibt es etliche Regelungen, die für eine Beschränkung bestimmter Ermittlungsmaßnahmen auf die Zeugnisverweigerungsrechte verweisen. Anne Schneider geht der Frage nach, inwieweit sich diese Regelungen mit den Gründen für die Einführung von Zeugnisverweigerungsrechten vereinbaren lassen. Hierbei orientiert sie sich an der Methodik der Gesetzgebungslehre. Zunächst analysiert sie die Interessen der einzelnen Akteure und lotet die Grenzen aus, die höherrangiges Recht dem Gesetzgeber setzt. Auf Basis dieser Ergebnisse bewertet sie anschließend das geltende Recht. Es zeigt sich, dass kein Interesse die gesetzliche Regelung vollständig erklären kann. Im Ergebnis schlägt Anne Schneider daher eine Neuregelung für alle Ermittlungsmaßnahmen vor, die auf die Akzessorietät zum Zeugnisverweigerungsrecht verzichtet.
