'Thank you Weasel Abbs' is a second adventure story book based on
12 year old Scott's imaginary friend Weasel Abbs. Scott is both
autistic and physically disabled and spends most of his time in his
wheelchair. The story begins with Scott and his 10 year old brother
Jake and 7 year old BJ, together with their cousins 10 year old
Lucas and 8 year old Shona Ann staying at their grandparents' farm
for the night following a party. The children are wakened with a
tapping sound on the boys' bedroom window and Weasel Abbs announces
he has a mission for them on the planet of H-Trae, an identical
planet to Earth. Once there they find it hard to accept that the
surroundings and the people are the same as back on Earth except
everyone on H-Trae talk and act in a robotic fashion. After making
friends with what appear to be clones of themselves it soon becomes
clear why Weasel Abbs has brought them to H-Trae. However, they are
soon confronted by the evil Baswell, who at first causes confusion
by looking exactly like Weasel Abbs. Under false pretences Baswell
takes them away to his planet of Drumstar and once there they meet
up with Percival Pike, a scarecrow looking creature who comes to
their rescue by taking them through the 'yellow door' into a
wonderful magical world. Finally a duel between Weasel Abbs and
Baswell takes place, and the children, as well as being awe
inspired by the spectacular display, are more than anxious that
their own Weasel Abbs will be the winner of the duel and finally
rid them and H-Trae from Baswell's evil spell.
