This book provides a comprehensive discussion and analysis of global energy resources, international energy markets, international energy forecasts for the first quarter of the 21st century, conventional and alternative energy technologies and pertinent historical developments of world energy. It is organized into four parts with 27 chapters that cover advance energy technologies, primary and alternative energy resources and country profiles. Part I introduces conventional energy resources; Part II covers alternative energy sources and conservation; Part III covers energy modelling and forecast methods for anlaysing energy development in the United States of America and the world; Part IV provides a country-by-country analysis of energy issues, law, resources and programs. It is indeed an assessment of the outlook for international energy that relates to major fuels, transportation, electricity and the environment.
Making a Difference in the Classroom: The Reality and Truth of
Teaching in Schools Today makes the case that our schools will
continue to struggle until we take an honest approach to what we
know works in the classroom. This book is a frank discussion about
what teachers face and what teacher candidates should know before
they enter the classroom. Until we implement an honest approach to
our education challenges, our students will continue to fail.
Teacher candidates consistently fulfill graduation requirements.
Yet, they fail our students. This book provides a refreshing
viewpoint as decision-makers hold conversations about changes in
methodologies, in pedagogy, and in standard practices of teaching.
Making a Difference in the Classroom discusses possible solutions
that would evaluate college students to determine if they have what
it takes to pursue teaching. It discusses a fundamental scientific
flaw of using past data to analyze a fluid system (students) and
using the results to extrapolate information for future
predictions. With that in mind, it becomes imperative that we move
hastily toward viable solutions.
Answering the Call to Teach: A Novel Approach to Effective
Classroom Instruction makes the case that effective teaching begins
with people who have a sincere calling to teach. The book discusses
how children respond more creatively to teachers who have a
calling. These teachers are more passionate, more interested in
going that "extra" mile for children, and who, by design, encourage
other children with the gift to teach to carry the torch. There is
more to teaching than purely translating academic concepts to
children. Teaching is a vocation. The book creates a framework by
which training institutions can use so that our children are
getting the best teachers. This is the most effective method in the
classroom - the right teacher.

It has been evident from many years of research work in the
geohydrologic sciences that a summary of relevant past work,
present work, and needed future work in multivariate statistics
with geohydrologic applications is not only desirable, but is
necessary. This book is intended to serve a broad scientific
audience, but more specifi cally is geared toward scientists doing
studies in geohydrology and related geo sciences.lts objective is
to address both introductory and advanced concepts and applications
of the multivariate procedures in use today. Some of the procedures
are classical in scope but others are on the forefront of
statistical science and have received limited use in geohydrology
or related sciences. The past three decades have seen a significant
jump in the application of new research methodologies that focus on
analyzing large databases. With more general applications being
developed by statisticians in various disciplines, multivariate
quantitative procedures are evolving for better scientific applica
tion at a rapid rate and now provide for quick and informative
analyses of large datasets. The procedures include a family of
statistical research methods that are alternatively called
"multivariate analysis" or "multivariate statistical methods.""
