Diese Probleme betreffen vor allem wachsende Haushalts- und Liquiditatsengpasse, wobei manche Stadte und Kommunen vor dem Problem stehen, wie sie die Aufgaben des offentlichen Sektors weiterhin mit ihrer engen Finanzlage erfullen konnen. Neuen Moglichkeiten der Gestaltung der Aufgaben des offentlichen Sektors und Alternativen zur herkommlichen Finanzierung der Aufgabe der Stadte, Lander, Kommunen und des Bundes kommt deshalb eine wachsende Bedeutung zu. In diesem Zusammenhang hat sich der Begriff des Public Private Partnerships (PPP) zu einem Modewort entwickelt. Diese PPPs bieten eine neue Moglichkeit fur den offentlichen Sektor, die ihm zufallenden Aufgaben weiterhin wahrzunehmen. Vor diesem Hintergrund geht es in der vorliegenden Arbeit um eine Vorstellung der Thematik der PPPs.
