Despite its worldwide following, high levels of investment and
scientific complexity, there is a lack of evidence-based literature
on the science of human performance in motorsport. Focusing on the
physiological, psychological and sport medicine aspects of
training, performance, injury and safety, The Science of Motorsport
is the first book to provide an accessible and up-to-date resource
for stakeholders at all levels of motorsport. Addressing the
physiological and psychological stresses of racing across a full
range of sports, from Formula 1 and IndyCar to NASCAR and endurance
racing, the book includes chapters on: * nutritional and physical
training strategies for drivers; * the driver's neck; * injury
rates and pathologies of open-wheel driving; * return to
competition from concussion; * driver safety; * and considerations
for pit crews and safety staff. Accessibly written and made up of
contributions from world-leading authorities in motorsport science
research, this is a crucial resource for racing drivers, physical
trainers, pit crew members and safety personnel, as well as
researchers and students with an interest in applied sport
physiology, applied sport psychology or sport medicine.

President Obama announced in June 2014 that he would seek "to fix
as much of our immigration system as I can on my own" through
administrative action. It seems likely that such actions will
prompt heated legal debate concerning the scope of the Executive's
discretionary authority over immigration matters, including with
respect to the enforcement of immigration-related sanctions and the
granting of immigration benefits or privileges. On 20 November
2014, President Obama announced his Immigration Accountability
Executive Action which revises some U.S. immigration policies and
initiates several programs, including a revised border security
policy for the Southwest border; deferred action programs for some
unauthorised aliens; revised interior enforcement priorities;
changes to aid the entry of skilled workers; the promotion of
immigrant integration and naturalisation; and several other
initiatives the President indicated would improve the U.S.
immigration system. This book provides an overview of the executive
action on immigration, and well as discusses the issues involved.
Further Travels of an Everyday Man takes readers along with David
Ferguson Elliott as he visits Europe, as well as exotic countries
that most will never see, such as Tanzania, Kenya, Egypt, Morocco,
Thailand and Borneo. The book features David's travels throughout
the world, and like his first book, Travels of an Everyday Man,
includes his meetings with a variety of people from different
cultures. Further Travels also contains accounts of numerous
wildlife sightings and more than 50 photos to whet the interest of
armchair travellers. In his first book, he describes his chance
sighting of a snow leopard in the Annapurna Sanctuary, and in this
book writes about seeing orangutans in Borneo. Yet to be seen are
tigers in the wild and a komodo dragon. Other experiences include
the sighting of the Northern lights, or Aurora Borealis, and an
active volcano. The wish list continues to grow, despite visiting
various countries and achieving some interesting and anticipated
experiences. About the Author: David Ferguson Elliott was raised in
Derbyshire, England, and now lives in Murcia, Spain. He is retired
and sites his inspiration as "many of the historic explorers and
mountaineers, but in particular a guy named Norman Croucher, who
after a serious accident and the amputation of both legs below the
knee, went on to climb mountains around the world." Publisher's

Miles, as the name implies, is inspired by the improvisations and
compositional style of Miles Davis during his "modal period." With
one masked exception, none of the themes presented here are taken
from Miles Davis' recordings. Instead, the piece is constructed
(like Miles' solos) around clearly defined rhythmic and melodic
motives. This piece requires a good deal of rhythmic independence
from players and each person is featured in short solo and lead
roles at various points throughout the piece. Range considerations
in the piece are minimal to facilitate performances by trumpeters
at the high school, collegiate or professional levels.
