The summer break finds friends Luke, Becky and Daniel visiting their aunt at the seaside. Famous for its fossils, the beach is a treasure trove for Luke, who loves dinosaurs. However, as they investigate disappearing dogs and a mysterious museum attendant, they discover that a creepy clown and a ghostly creature don't want them to find the truth.
Why is the strangely clothed ghost child spying on Luke and his friends? Is this silent watcher linked in some way, to the centuries old riddle carved on the ancient stone fragment that the children discover? As the three pals struggle to make sense of the strange happenings that engulf their summer vacation, they suddenly realise that they have stumbled upon a dangerous puzzle, right there in their own village. But others too are interested in solving the mystery, and the children have to race against time to uncover a long hidden treasure and the truth.
"Before you step into any conversation about politics on a national or global level, you must first know the facts. David R. Young's The Political Spectrum: Freedom Vs. Enslavement is a unique book that delivers the information one needs to understand the left, the right and every party in between." eLit Electronic Book Awards Americans; Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians and Independents remain at odds because they do not have a common point to agree on as a basis to really work together. Perhaps the old adage, Divide and Conquer is being employed against our country. If that is the case, this book may be the only hope we have. This is not a book about pointing fingers and getting Democrats and Republicans to blame or hate each other. This book is likely to have the same effect on our county's political divide as did 9/11. For a brief moment we stopped and acknowledge we were all, first and foremost, Americans. If you feel that should happen again, but without a national disaster, read this book and pass it to that friend of yours across the isle. It is time you discovered what has been obscured concerning the political spectrum. With this knowledge you will make up your own mind about your position and also be certain about where you are not, on The Political Spectrum: Freedom vs. Enslavement.
Over the past several years a cascade of corporate scandals have erupted. Savings and provisions for retirement have shrunk drastically. Jobs have been lost. One of the world's largest and best-known accounting firms is gone. Ordinary people have been hurt and they have lost confidence in business leaders. The on-going public debate over business ethics and corporate reform points to one common conclusion: Things cannot be corrected by simply adding more laws and new rules. The solution will come from high moral leadership. The Heart of A Business Ethic is based on the Hansen-Wessner Lectureship Series established by the ServiceMaster Foundation to consider the source of moral authority and ethical behavior in business. The eight lectures in this series were presented at major universities in the U.S. and Britain, and brought together some of the most distinguished business experts of our time. What they have to say is important for business teachers and students, and business leaders at every level. The scandals at Enron, Tyco and others have generated many books on business ethics, but none offer the expertise or breadth of thinking that this volume does. The Heart of A Business Ethic is useful to professors, students, and practitioners who not only want to understand what has happened, but who also want to think through the basis for a new standard of morality in business.
