Der deutsche Novellendichter und Schriftsteller Karl Eduard von Bulow (1803 - 1853) interessierte sich fruh fur die Schriftstellerei. Eine gute Freundschaft mit dem bekannten Schriftsteller Ludwig Tieck verband ihn fast sein ganzes Leben. In dem hier vorliegenden Buch, welches 1846 erstmals veroffentlicht wurde, sind sechs Novellen des Autors festgehalten.
