This nineteenth century German story penned by Franz Hoffman
narrates the lives of Jack and John; One the poor but diligent son
of a widowed factory worker, and the other the wealthy and slothful
son of a successful businessman. The tale follows the boys
throughout the course of their lives and circumstances,
illustrating the rewards and consequences of their contrasting
choices. This book offers a perspective on labor, fortitude,
patience and perseverance, much needed in our time. It serves as a
sagacious guide for the young reader as well as a source of
inspiration for the reforming sluggard who wishes to heed to
biblical encouragement to "study the ant." This book was edited by
a human being. It has no missing or blurred pages, nor errant
marks. Spelling errors, and ommitted or unintended characters, will
be few, if any.

Originally published before the turn of the 20th Century, a tale of
three boys who face trials and tribulations that test their
character. The accompanying study will provoke thought and
stimulate questions that will tug on the heartstrings of both young
and old. This lost work of art is uncovered for your family with a
study that will bring you closer by digging deeper into the
wellspring of life, our hearts. Chris and Lisa are the parents of
five children, Hannah (11), Zachary (9), Joshua (6), Benjamin (4)
and Samuel (1). Chris is currently a Captain in the United States
Army and Lisa is a Registered Nurse, more importantly she is the
Williams Family Teacher as we home-school our 5 children. Chris and
Lisa have moved around this wonderful nation (courtesy of the U.S.
Army) and have met so many people that they feel God has truly
blessed them with an abundance of friendships. There truly are too
many people to list. As they continue their endeavors it is their
hope and prayer that they see more people come to Christ as a
result of their lives.
