Nell'ambito della comunicazione, le competenze comunicative colmano il gap tra teoria e pratica. Cimentarsi nel compito di integrare la teoria della comunicazione con la pratica significa fronteggiare, da un lato, lo snobismo di quanti vorrebbero preservare gli studi filosofici da ogni possibile contaminazione con la fatticita delle situazioni concrete dell'umano e, dall'altro, l'approccio meramente funzionalistico di quanti ritengono che la comunicazione sia di fatto riconducibile all'acquisizione di "tecniche". Il volume si interroga sulla possibilita di conciliare l'efficacia della comunicazione con l'approccio etico, che richiede di non obliterare l'alterita degli interlocutori.

Un numero monografico di YM dedicato alle diverse possibili declinazioni del tema del conflitto. Dalla letteratura, agli studi sul rapporto medico-paziente, la collana editoriale si sostanzia di un altro numero monografico in prospettiva multidisciplinare.

L'interdisciplinarita rappresenta oggi una nozione sempre piu utilizzata e generalmente considerata sinonimo di dialogo tra saperi. Come si e giunti ad avvertire il bisogno di tale dialogo? Dall'interno di molte discipline, e sorta la "richiesta di etica" quale requisito necessario di molti codici deontologici, un risultato importante, sebbene ancora insufficiente rispetto alle potenzialita effettive dell'etica, se assunta nella sua capacita di cercare il necessario orientamento in dialogo con i propri interlocutori. Quale idea di filosofia consente di raggiungere questo obiettivo? Quale paradigma di comunicazione e richiesto? Quale valenza acquista l'ascolto come attitudine filosofica? Per alludere al percorso accennato nel libro, risulta pertanto adeguata la scelta di Angerona, divinita romana, nell'iconografia ricordata nell'atto di portare il dito alla bocca nella richiesta di un silenzio attentivo, conditio sine qua non per una proposta filosofica che sappia farsi carico dell'altro.

La vicenda, narrata da Lermontov, dell'incontro tra il demone e Tamara si presta ad una lettura metaforica proprio a partire dal suo esito piu nefasto, la negazione dell'esistenza della giovane donna nel momento in cui un bacio viene a sancire il frutto dell'irresistibile attrazione. Se il demone, cui e dato di sapere tutto, e condannato alla indifferenza anche rispetto allo stesso male che puo infliggere e se Tamara incarna la complessita della vicenda umana, la storia di questo incontro impossibile puo alludere al rapporto tra la filosofia e gli ambiti di cui essa e chiamata ad occuparsi. L'indagine, dunque, da forma e viene ad abitare il confine poroso tra etica ed estetica, laddove le forme della espressione possono diventare luogo stesso di manifestazione dell'altro.
