Christine "Lady Bird" McPherson fights against (but is exactly like) her wildly loving, deeply opinionated and strong-willed mom, a nurse working tirelessly to keep her family afloat after Lady Bird's father loses his job.
Set in Sacramento, California in 2002, amidst a rapidly shifting American economic landscape, Lady Bird is an affecting look at the relationships that shape us, the beliefs that define us, and the unmatched beauty of a place called home.
(Academy Award nominations for: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Screenplay)
Little Women draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author’s alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life.
In writer-director Greta Gerwig’s take, the beloved story of the March sisters—four young women each determined to live life on her own terms—is both timeless and timely.
(Academy Award winner: Best Costume Design. Also nominated for Best Picture, Best Actress (Saoirse Ronan), Best Supporting Actress (Florence Pugh), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Musical Score)
Al Pacino and Greta Gerwig star in this comedy drama adapted from Philip Roth's novel 'The Humbling'. Ageing actor Simon Axler (Pacino) is suffering from mental health problems and, with his once-successful career in decline, he considers suicide. He finds a new lease of life when he encounters Pegeen (Gerwig), a much younger gay woman who is the daughter of his friends, and the two embark on an unlikely affair. As their relationship develops Axler is given the opportunity to return to the stage, but can he successfully revive his career?
Whit Stillman helms this offbeat romantic-musical-comedy following a group of social misfits as they negotiate the minefield of college life. Greta Gerwig stars as Violet, the emotionally fragile yet overbearing leader of a pretentious group of girls who imagine themselves superior to everyone else when in fact they are for the most part ignored by their fellow students. Everyday concerns such as dating disappointments, essay grades and social mores give way to the more perilous pitfalls of female friendship after the girls take it upon themselves to befriend new student Lily (Analeigh Tipton).
Collection of two comedies. In 'No Strings Attached' (2011), when long-time friends Emma (Natalie Portman) and Adam (Ashton Kutcher) decide to add a physical dimension to their relationship and move into 'friends with benefits' territory, they agree to keep things strictly casual and on a 'no strings' basis. But before long both of them find things becoming more complicated than planned as those pesky emotions get in the way. In 'Morning Glory' (2010), a sparky, ambitious young television producer spies an opportunity to claw her way up the career ladder when she is offered a job on 'Daybreak', the worst-performing morning chat show in the ratings. Her decision to hire veteran newscaster Mike Pomeroy (Harrison Ford) to host the show meets with scepticism from network executive Jerry (Jeff Goldblum) and co-host Colleen Peck (Diane Keaton), and with little enthusiasm from Pomeroy himself, who is obliged by his contract to take this less-than-promising gig. Can Becky overcome the poor ratings and in-fighting to bring the team together and transform the show into something to be proud of?
Natalie Portman stars in the title role of this biographical drama that follows First Lady Jackie Kennedy in the days after her husband's assassination in 1963.
As Jackie mourns the tragic death of her husband, she accepts advice from White House staff and prepares to give an interview to 'Life' magazine's Theodore H. White. Known for her dignity and composure in front of the cameras, behind closed doors Jackie struggles to cope with the loss of her partner and the weight of the world that now rests on her shoulders.
(Academy Award nominations for: Best Actress, Best Costume Design, Best Musical Score)
Comedy written and directed by Todd Solondz which follows a loveable Dachshund as it travels around the country, changing the lives of a number of very different owners along the way. After setting off on a road trip with veterinary assistant Dawn Wiener (Greta Gerwig), the dog then encounters young cancer survivor Remi (Keaton Nigel Cooke), failing film professor Dave Schmerz (Danny DeVito) and troubled grandmother Nana (Ellen Burstyn).
Russell Brand plays the title character in this remake of the 1981 comedy which starred Dudley Moore. Rich playboy Arthur Bach (Brand) spends most of his time getting drunk and living a life of luxury. He finds himself in a dilemma, however, when his family insists upon his marriage to heiress Susan Johnson (Jennifer Garner).
Arthur much prefers waitress Linda Marolla (Greta Gerwig) but if he goes against his family's wishes, he will lose his inheritance. Arthur must decide if he's willing to risk losing everything for the woman he loves. Helen Mirren and Nick Nolte co-star.
Ti West writes and directs this supernatural chiller set in, and inspired by the horror films of, the 1980s. When cash-strapped college student Samantha Hughes (Jocelin Donahue) takes a babysitting job in a remote country mansion, she soon senses that something is not quite right. As a lunar eclipse darkens the sky overhead, Samantha begins to realise that her employers (Tom Noonan and Mary Woronov) intend to use her for something far more sinister than mere childcare...
Noah Baumbach directs this stylised comedy co-written by and starring Greta Gerwig as a young woman struggling with the demands of growing up. Filmed in black and white, the movie revolves around the adventures of Frances (Gerwig), a 27-year-old aspiring dancer. Since college Frances has been inseparable from her flatmate Sophie (Mickey Sumner), but when Sophie, now a successful publisher, announces that she is moving out, Frances finds her life at a crossroads. With distance rapidly growing between her and Sophie and her lack of finances leading her to move into smaller and less glamorous apartments, Frances begins to realise that perhaps 27 isn't so young after all. Will she be able to move on from her youthful dreams and get her life back on track?

When he travels to Paris and discovers the world of underground music, he realises that he has found his true calling in life and sets about learning how to be a DJ. As he gets sucked into the seedy world that comes with life as a DJ, Paul quickly finds himself hooked on drugs, sex and hard-hitting bass.
