In a stock market environment dominated by professional
investors, "A Few Good Eggs in One Basket" o ers a plain-talk
approach to pro tability by selecting and managing an investment
portfolio of common stocks for an individual.
Author Richard L. Gunderson, who has been an investor for more
than forty years, outlines an enduring framework that improves the
odds for the individual investor to exceed the performance of the
market over the long term by buying good companies at bargain
prices. He outlines what constitutes a "good" company and how to
determine when a price meets the test of being a "bargain." "A Few
Good Eggs in One Basket" also helps individual investors by
discussing
what to look for; where to look; when to buy; when to sell; and
how many stocks to own.
"A Few Good Eggs in One Basket" presents a prescription designed
to take advantage of opportunities created by market overreaction
to bad news and disappointing results. Gunderson believes there are
always bargains at any time and in any market. The challenge is to
consistently apply a disciplined approach to identifying the
unusual and favorable opportunities and concentrating a portfolio
on those stocks representing the best combination of overall
quality and intrinsic value.

"'I was crossing a street, and a car came careening around the
corner and I knew it was going to hit me. I cried out to the Lord
as I began to feel the car brush across my leg. Instantly, I was
out of the crosswalk and sitting on a bus bench on the opposite
side of the road. I had no idea how I'd gotten there. The man
sitting next to me on the bench looked at me and said, 'What
happened to the two men who saved your life? ' There were no other
men anywhere to be seen " For years, Karin has been sharing these
remarkable experiences with family, friends and concert audiences
across the United States. After one concert, an excited 14-year-old
boy said, "Now I really believe in God " This is a book you will

The intersections of aging, media, and culture are under-explored
given trends in population aging, rapid increases in the mediation
of everyday life, and the growing cultural significance of media
consumption at the global level. This book brings together an
international collection of critical scholars, both
well-established and up-and-coming, from the various academic
disciplines that share a common interest in the future study of
aging and media. This anthology of original articles integrates
aging theory and media studies through a study of core issues
including the media's influence on the construction of "old age,"
the reciprocal influence of aging on media industries, age-based
identities in a mediated world, issues of gender and sexuality in
an aging society, and the practical implications of a more
integrated approach between the two fields. The chapters explore
the intersections between aging and media in the realms of
advertising/marketing, television, film, music, celebrity and
social media, among others.
Muhidin Maalim Gurumo and Hassan Rehani Bitchuka are two of
Tanzania's most well-known singers in the popular music genre known
as muziki wa dansi (literally, 'music for dancing'), a variation of
the Cuban-based rhumba idiom that has been enormously impactful
throughout central, eastern, and western Africa in the contemporary
era. This interview-based dual biography investigates the lives and
careers of these two men from an ethnomusicological and historical
perspective. Gurumo had a career spanning fifty years before his
death in 2014. Bitchuka has been singing professionally for
forty-five years. The two singers, affectionately called mapacha
("the twins") by their colleagues, worked together as partners for
thirty years from 1973-2003. This study situates these exemplary
individuals as creative agents in a local cultural context,
showcasing interviews, narratives, and nostalgic reminiscences
about musical life lived under Colonialism, state Socialism, and
current politics in the global neoliberal democratic milieu. The
book adds to a growing body of work about popular music in Dar es
Salaam and shines a light on these artists' creative processes, the
choices they have made regarding rare resources, their styles and
efficacy in conflict resolution, and their own memories regarding
the musical art they have created.

the birth of their second daughter Yvonne. On March 3rd of 1942 an
Indian woman gives birth to twins who appear to be white. The news
of the birth of white twins spreads around the village, but Herman,
the only white man in the village, denies any involvement saying
the mother's husband is part Russian and the villagers are a bunch
of "gossips." The Larsens experience tragedy in March of 1943 when
Etola dies of hepatitis. Subsequently they live in three other
Alaskan villages, during which time Robert (Bud) and Elaine are

after he took office.
