Die hier abgedruckten Beitrage sind anlasslich des Symposions uber Herzrhythmus und Anaesthesie am 17. Juni 1972 in Minden (Westfalen) vorgetragen worden. Dieses Symposion wurde abgehalten, weil Ver- anderungen des Herzrhythmus wahrend genereller und regionaler Anaesthesie immer mehr an Bedeutung gewinnen. Mit Hilfe einiger inter- essanter Untersuchungen wurde das kontroverse Thema "Digitalis und Operation" bzw. "Routinedigitalisierung vor einer Anaesthesie oder nicht" einer fundierten Antwort naherzubringen versucht.
