This comprehensive book evaluates the development status,
application scenarios, and future trends of China's transportation
technology, with a focus on the progress and breakthroughs made in
the development of China's transportation technology, the
development trend of new technologies, and the impact on
transportation. The unique reference text benefits practitioners,
leaders and managers in the transportation industry, transportation
researchers, transportation engineers, and transportation
technicians.
This book is designed as a popular science book on big data
analytics in intelligent transportation systems. It aims to provide
an introduction to big-data transportation starting from an
overview on the development of big data transportation in various
countries. This is followed by a discussion on the blueprint
strategies of big data transportation which include innovative
models, planning, transportation logistics, and application case
studies. Finally, the book discusses applications of big data
transportation platforms.
Cyclospora cayetanensis is a microscopic parasite that can be
transmitted via food or water sources and causes intestinal disease
(Cyclosporiasis) in humans. Cyclospora and Cyclosporiasis:
Epidemiology, Diagnosis, Detection, and Control reviews 22 species
of Cyclospora and discusses C. cayetanensis infection in humans.
This book offers comprehensive coverage that includes taxonomy and
biology, molecular characteristics, and transmission of the
parasite. It also provides researchers, clinicians, public health
officials, and food safety officials with basic data for the
epidemiology of the Cyclospora spp. or C. cayetanensis, as well as
strategies to monitor large-scale outbreaks of Cyclospora spp. or
C. cayetanensis. The book further covers clinical symptoms,
diagnostic methods, and means of treatment and prevention of this
disease and informs readers of the hazards of the parasite, common
means of transmission, and self-protection measures.
Advances in Artificial intelligence (AI) have redefined research
and development in many areas, particularly in the direction of
engineering research, application of machine learning, and the use
of deep learning in many aspects of engineering research. This book
looks at the impact of AI and how it has transformed transportation
in the form of Smart Traffic Management Systems in a world of
unmanned systems and autonomous machines. The book explores the
problems faced in air, sea and land transport and traffic. It looks
into Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), autonomous and
remotely-operated ships, intelligent port management systems, and
modern urban railway systems.Redefining Traffic is a reference book
for researchers, engineers, and technical personnel specializing in
intelligent traffic, artificial intelligence, big data, and the
Internet of Things (IoT). It can also be used as a study guide for
advanced undergraduates interested in AI, vehicle engineering,
automation, and computing.
This important contribution to the sociolinguistics of Asian
languages breaks new ground in the study of language standards and
standardization in two key ways: in its focus on Asia, with
particular attention paid to China and its neighbours, and in the
attention paid to multilingual contexts. The chapters address
various kinds of (sometimes hidden) multilingualism and examine the
interactions between multilingualism and language standardization,
offering a corrective to earlier work on standardization, which has
tended to assume a monolingual nation state and monolingual
individuals. Taken together, the chapters in this book thus add to
our understanding of the ways in which multilingualism is
implicated in language standardization, as well as the impact of
language standards on multilingualism. The introduction, Chapter 6
and Chapter 8 are free to download as open access publications. You

This SpringerBrief focuses mainly on the basic theory and
applications of massive MIMO in 5G networks. The significance of
massive MIMO for 5G or future communications is first briefly
discussed. Then, the basic theory of massive MIMO technology is
comprehensively analyzed, i.e., a variety of 5G scenarios and their
improvements are described when massive MIMO is taken into account.
Art physical-layer techniques and various networking techniques for
interference mitigation and resource scheduling are introduced as
well. This SpringerBrief also examines the selected applications of
massive MIMO in 5G networks, i.e., massive MIMO-aided millimeter
communications and energy transfer. The physical-layer design,
multiple access control (MAC) mechanism and networking techniques
are discussed for millimeter-wave communications aided by massive
MIMO technology. Then, massive MIMO is covered for hybrid
information and energy transfer. A downlink precoder and a uplink
pilot scheme is proposed for single cell networks, and both
non-cooperative and cooperative energy transfer in multi-cell are
presented. Communication researchers in the area of MIMO
technology, as well as researchers and practitioners working in
millimeter communications and energy transfer seeking new research
topics, and topic areas with communication system design,
centralized and distributed algorithms, will find this brief useful
as a reference. Advanced-level students studying communication
engineering will also find this book useful as a secondary text.
