In-situ scattering and diffraction measurements using synchrotron and neutron beam lines have become a viable tool to look at the non-equilibrium processing of advanced materials. This volume presents the subject from the theoretical and experimental standpoint, in order to provide a closer insight into the different synchrotron and neutron diffraction techniques as well as innovative microscopy techniques.

Following on from the 1st workshop in 2009 at BAM Berlin, a 2nd workshop dealing with this subject matter was held in 28-30 November, 2012 in Osaka/Japan with international participation of scientists from sixteen countries. The book includes selected contributions from the various subject blocks, precisely covering issues of practical and immediately implementable benefit to industrial enterprises. According to state reporting to the Government Accountability Office (GAO), there were at least 8 million active permits to carry concealed handguns in the United States as of December 31, 2011. States and local authorities control the issuance of concealed carry permits. Applicants who wish to obtain such permits are required to meet certain state eligibility requirements, such as minimum age and the lack of a felony conviction. States also decide which other states' permits to honour. Typically, states enter into reciprocity agreements that establish which out-of-state permit holders can carry concealed firearms within each state.
