Born into a working class family in the 1960s but educated at a
traditional girls Grammar School the story of a life divided began.
Going on to become a successful career woman in the most hostile of
environments such as prisons, maximum security psychiatric units
and criminal justice arenas there remained a longing for my own
freedom. That release came when the world came crashing down
leaving nothing that could be salvaged. As those doors closed the
new world began to open up before me. Everything that had been
special, close to my heart was able to grow. I could spend time
with my wonderful Border Collies and sheep. I was enabled to
literally make the wreck of a newly purchased house into a loved
home. After the darkness came the sunshine. How bright my sunshine
is. Even in the darkness I can shine as bright as any star. I'm not
religious but I can truly count my blessings, especially the four
legged ones.
Yea, Tho' I Walk is the third book of Sera's spiritual growth from
an immature and unhealthy Christian to an educated, mature, working
disciple. Sera is a successful career woman who has earned a
promotion in her corporate job in The Last Miserable Day when
everything goes wrong and Sera finds herself literally on the
floor. In Sera's Stand she has become wiser and stronger and learns
to stand with faith on the Word of God and gains momentum to walk
through life's valleys. Finally, Sera has become an adult in
Christ. She has learned to place Jesus as the center of her life
and the Kingdom of God at the pinnacle of her reach. Now she is
ready to walk Other books in Sera's trilogy by Reverend Bowman: The

Imagination and Environmental Political Thought: The Aftermath of
Thoreau seeks to correct oversimplified readings of Henry David
Thoreau's political thought by elucidating a key tension within his
imagination. With the celebration of Thoreau's two-hundredth
birthday now past, this study outlines, and builds on, his own
understanding of imagination and considers its implications for
environmental politics. Despite the use of the word, "aftermath,"
Thoreau's legacy for environmental political thought is primarily
constructive and foundational for modern environmentalism.
Thoreau's virtues and vices have been inherited by his
environmentally-conscious readers. The author of Walden's
preference for an abstract, ahistorical "higher law," his radical
concept of autonomy, and his frustration with government and
community foster an impractical political thought characteristic of
an idyllic imagination. Nevertheless, Thoreau demonstrates a more
prudential and moral imagination by emphasizing the inescapable
relationship between the moral order of individuals and the order
of political communities and by pioneering the central questions of
humanity's relationship to non-human nature. Can this tension of
imaginations be resolved? What are the consequences of this
tension? Thoreau's overall vision ultimately creates significant
problems with which environmentalists still struggle. While
Thoreau's emphasis on freedom and the immaterial aspects of human
and non-human nature are of considerable value, his abstract
political morality, misanthropy and escapism must be resisted both
for the sake of environmental well-being and human dignity. In
addition, this book is an exercise in re-thinking how the
humanities may provide scholars critical insights to better
diagnose and respond to the environmental challenges of our time.
In recent years there has been a flourishing body of work on the
Law of Treaties, crucial for all fields within international law.
However, scholarship on modern treaty law falls into two distinct
strands which have not previously been effectively synthesized. One
concerns the investigation of concepts which are fundamental to or
inherent in the law of treaties generally - such as consent, object
and purpose, breach of obligation and provisional application -
while the other focuses upon the application of treaties and of
treaty law in particular substantive (e.g. human rights,
international humanitarian law, investment protection,
environmental regulation) or institutional contexts (including the
Security Council, the World Health Organization, the International
Labour Organization and the World Trade Organization). This volume
represents the culmination of a series of collaborative
explorations by leading experts into the operation, development and
effectiveness of the modern law of treaties, as viewed through
these contrasting perspectives.

This book represents an outgrowth of an interdisciplinary session
held at the Seventh International Estuarine Research Federation
Conference held at Virginia Beach, Virginia, OCLober 1983. At that
meeting, the participants agreed to contribute to and develop a
monograph entitled "Tidal Mixing and Plankton Dynamics" by inviting
an expanded group of authors to contribute chapters on this theme.
The emphasis would be to review and summarize the considerable body
of knowledge that has accumulated over the last decade or so on the
fundamental role tidal mixing plays in energetic shallow seas and
estuaries in stimulating and controlling biological production. We
have attempted to provide a mix of contributions, composed of
reviews of the state-of-the-art, reports on current research activi
ties, summaries of the design and testing of a new generation of
innovative instruments for biological and chemical sampling and
sorting, and some imaginative ideas for future experiments on
stimulated mixing in continental shelf seas. We encouraged the
contributors to present critical and thought provoking assessments
of current wisdom specifying the sorts of techniques and
observational strategies needed to validate the various hypotheses
linking physical structure, mixing and circulation to plankton
biomass and production. We hope this volume will appeal to incoming
research students and established scholars alike. We certainly have
enjoyed working with all the authors in compiling this book. We
thank the numerous scientists who have served as reviewers, P.
Boisvert for typing the manuscripts and W. Bellows for
proofreading."

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed revised selected
papers of the 20th International Symposium on Trends in Functional
Programming, TFP 2019, held in Vancouver, Canada, in June 2019. The
6 revised full papers were selected from 11 submissions and present
papers in all aspects of functional programming, taking a broad
view of current and future trends in the area. It aspires to be a
lively environment for presenting the latest research results, and
other contributions, described in draft papers submitted prior to
the symposium.
