explored for all three stages of apostolic ministry.
Contextualization of Christian teaching into the situation in Crete
is explored. The book of Titus teaches this basic overall theme:
Setting the Church in Order involves the appointing of qualified
leaders who are sound in teaching and who model a Christian
lifestyle, and necessitates leaders who exhort others to practical
Christian living.
This leadership commentary on 1,2 Timothy is part of a series,
Clinton's Leadership Commentary Series. This 362 page book is a
leadership commentary, not an exegetical commentary. That means I
have worked with the text to see what implications of leadership
are suggested by it. 1,2 Timothy is probably the most important
leadership material in the New Testament (followed closely by Titus
and 1,2 Corinthians). There are 12 major leadership topics in 1
Timothy: 1. Mentoring; 2. Giftedness; 3. Balance-Between Developing
and Achieving; 4. Discipline; 5. Complexity-Leadership Problems; 6.
Leadership Guidelines; 7. Finances; 8. Spiritual Warfare; 9.
Leadership Problems-Heresy. There are 15 major leadership topics in
2 Timothy: 1. Finish Well; 2. Ministry Prayer Principle; 3. Prayer
Encouragement Principle; 4. Giftedness Development; 5. Ultimate
Accountability; 6. Leadership Selection; 7. Focus; 8. Financial
Principle; 9. Bible-Centered Ministry; 10. Gentleness; 11.
Opposition; 12. Modeling/ Transparency. 13. Advent of Christ; 14.
Learning Posture; 15. Balance in Spiritual Warfare. Each of these
is explained in depth and leadership principles drawn from them. In
addition, 74 leadership articles, nearly 291 pages worth, are
written concerning the various leadership subjects commented on in
the text. These leadership articles are useful for mentoring and
developing leaders. A glossary of leadership definitions associated
with the Philemon commentary is also included. The major thrust of
this work concerns leadership style-one of the major reasons for
conflict in churches today.
This leadership commentary on Philemon is part of a series,
Clinton's Leadership Commentary Series. It is a leadership
commentary, not an exegetical commentary. That means I have worked
with the text to see what implications of leadership are suggested
by it. There are 7 major leadership topics in Philemon: 1.
Influence Means; 2. Mentoring; 3. Relational Value; 4. Prayer
Encouragement Principle; 5. Isolation Processing and Results; 6.
Social Issue; 7. Critical Incident. Each of these is explained in
depth and leadership principles drawn from them. In addition, 25
leadership articles, nearly 100 pages worth, are written concerning
the various leadership subjects commented on in the text. A
glossary of leadership definitions associated with the Philemon
commentary is also included. The major thrust of this work concerns
leadership style-one of the major reasons for conflict in churches
today.
Gives leadership perspectives which are foundational for viewing
leadership in the Bible including basic definitions for leader,
leadership, leadership act, an integrating framework for leadership
issues, influence means, leadership values, leadership
behaviors--task, relationship, and inspiration--and a host of other
ideas. Describes the seven sources of leadership information in the
Bible and gives step by step procedures for studying each of these
sources for leadership observations. Gives help in analyzing source
material for leadership lessons and values including how to
identify levels of applications of your findings: absolutes,
guidelines, and suggestions. A major aid toward a Biblical value
based leadership.
Haggai is part of a Biblical leadership commentary series. It
examines the book of Haggai from a leadership perspective. How can
the book of Haggai inform leaders today with helpful information
for their leadership? That is the question this book answers.
Haggai deals with one of the important overall leadership
functions-inspirational leadership.
Obadiah is one of a series of leadership commentaries, which Dr.
Clinton and others are writing. Obadiah particularly emphasizes how
God faithfully performs His promises to His people. Leaders are
people who must know God as The Promise Keeper.
Habakkuk is part of a Biblical leadership commentary series. It
examines the book of Habakkuk from a leadership perspective. How
can the book of Habakkuk inform leaders today with helpful
information for their leadership? That is the question this book
answers. Habakkuk shows how God shapes a leader to trust Him.
Jonah is part of a Biblical leadership commentary series. It
examines the book of Jonah from a leadership perspective. How can
the book of Jonah inform leaders today with helpful information for
their leadership? That is the question this book answers.
The full title of this book is Strategic Concepts-That Clarify A
Focused Life, A Self-Study Manual Defining and Applying Focused
Life Concepts to Leaders Today. This manual was originally written
in 1995 by Dr. J. Robert Clinton and used in classes at Fuller
Seminary. After ten years of use the book has been revised to show
the latest findings gathered from these ten years of studies of
leaders' lives. The manual gives results of research on focused
lives: life purpose, effective methodologies, major role and
ultimate contribution. It defines a Personal Life Mandate-a two to
three page document with narrative paragraphs giving the findings
of a focused life. The end result is a major tool for decision
making and help in movement toward a focused life. The concepts
will be used by leaders for their own lives and for others as they
mentor them toward completion of an Ephesians 2:10 life.
1 and 2 Corinthians is part of the Clinton's Biblical Leadership
Commentary Series. It shows how an apostolic leader, Paul, deals
with a problematic church. This leadership commentary introduces
the books of 1,2 Corinthians, then lists major leadership topics in
the book. 1 Corinthians contains 7 major leadership topics. 2
Corinthians contains 9 major leadership topics. It then gives
leadership comments on the Biblical text in which leadership
concepts are listed, comments regarding leadership implications are
given and references to leadership articles explaining these
concepts and implications are given. This commentary has 74
leadership articles (varying from 1 page long to 15 or so pages)
totaling 265 pages.
This 308 page leadership commentary on Nehemiah is part of a
series, the Clinton's Leadership Commentary Series. To date, 14 of
these commentaries have been done in either eBook or regular book
format. These include: 1,2 Timothy; 1,2 Corinthians, Daniel,
Philippians, Philemon, John, Titus, Habakkuk, Jonah, Haggai,
Obadiah and Nehemiah. Each of the books in the series is a
leadership commentary, not an exegetical commentary. That means the
text was studied to see what implications for leadership it
suggests. For each commentary in the series there is an overview
section giving the historical background of the book, its theme,
structure, purposes, and leadership topics/lessons. Then there is a
commentary section in which the text is commented on with regard to
leadership concepts, insights and topics. Many of these concepts or
insights introduced in the commentary section are further explained
in a section containing leadership articles. The section containing
the leadership articles is by far the largest section of each
commentary (220 pages in Nehemiah). These leadership articles are
practical and usable by leaders in church and mission
organizations. Nehemiah occurs in the 4th leadership era-The Post
Kingdom Era. Nehemiah is one of the most focused leaders in the Old
Testament. And he is an inspirational leader as well. The theme of
Nehemiah captures something of his focused leadership: NEHEMIAH'S
ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP was the result of God's initiation, made
itself felt in the face of obstacles to rebuild the wall, was
inspirational in bringing about reform and a covenant in Jerusalem,
and included drastic steps of separation in order to insure an
on-going meaningful religiousatmosphere.
Analyzes each book in the Bible as a whole for its contribution to
leadership lessons. Six leadership eras are identified:
Patriarchal, Pre-Kingdom, Kingdom, Post-Kingdom, Pre-Church,
Church. Leadership lessons from each book and suggestions for
further study are given. Analyzes common lessons across the Bible
books, called macro-lessons. Motivates toward learning and teaching
the Bible from a macro standpoint--the broader perspective. (400
p.)
Defines a Bible centered leader and gives a Life Long Bible Mastery
Paradigm based on the concept of core, that limited number of Bible
books and materials that a given leader should master over a
lifetime. Gives the Equipping formula and guidelines for habitual
input from the Word over a lifetime. Defines 4 types of
communication events for using the Word with impact. This manual
represents Dr. Clinton's best from the last 12 years of research on
leaders who finish well. Most are Bible centered leaders.
Focused Lives is a comparative bibliographic study of eight
effective Christian leaders who finished well. From this
comparative study a definition for a focused life was derived. A
focused life is a life dedicated to exclusively carrying out God's
effective purposes through it, by identifying the focal issues,
that is, the life purpose, effective methodology, major role, or
ultimate contribution which allows an increasing prioritization of
life's activities around the focal issues, and results in a
satisfying life of being and doing. Comparative study as to how
each of the eight discovered life purpose, effective methodologies,
major role and ultimate contributions yields invaluable
information/lessons for a leader who wishes to see how God
strategically guides a leader to become and achieve what God
intended. A companion manual, Strategic Concepts-Which Clarify A
Focused Life, enables the research findings of this book to be
applied to leaders today.
Unlocking Your Giftedness-What Leaders Need to Know to Develop
Themselves and Others This self study manual gives the most
complete treatment of giftedness on the market. It treats the whole
giftedness set-natural abilities, acquired skills, and spiritual
gifts. It views giftedness from the standpoint of a leader
responsible for developing self and others. Notice especially the
sub-title. This book clarifies and suggests developmental means.
Concepts flow from accumulated research on leaders since 1983. (324
p.)
This self-study manual is ideal for small groups or individual
study. It describes the nine types of mentoring influences
(discipling, spiritual guidance, coaching, counseling, teaching,
sponsoring, contemporary modeling, historical modeling, and divine
contacts) in detail in terms of the five major mentoring dynamics
(attraction, relationship, responsiveness, accountability,
empowerment). Mentoring is an informal training model, which can
fit well in parachurch and church organizations to help other
individuals develop. This detailed manual supplements in
comprehensive detail the book Connecting done by Clinton and
Stanley.
This self-study manual gives a comprehensive overview of the three
major factors (processing, time, and leader response patterns) that
interweave together as God shapes a leader spiritually,
ministerially, and strategically over a lifetime to bring about His
purposes and resulting ultimate contribution. (456 p.)
Introduces an approach for effective reading for leadership
information. The method involves a set of reading approaches along
a continuum from a lesser involvement to an in-depth involvement:
scan, browse, ransack, pre-read, read, and study. Guidelines and
Worksheets help the reader focus on findings from each type of
material read.
This survey studies the five major leadership eras from 1841 to the
present. Features the five eras, leading theorists and works of
each era, the basic leadership paradigms used to shape leadership
during the phases, and leadership lessons seen in this historical
survey.
Examines the leadership style theories of the contingency and
complexity eras of leadership history. Presents the major theorists
(Blake and Mouton, Fiedler, Hersey and Blanchard) their views, and
then synthesizes the basic notions into a set of concepts which can
inform a Christian leader today. Includes insights from the
Scriptures regarding Pauline leadership styles. Leadership styles
are one of the major causes of conflict in leadership situation.
Every leader needs to know and recognize this theory in practice.
This leadership development study examines Joseph's life to
identify lessons and fundamental processing. Affirmation, sense of

leadership. You are introduced to leadership emergence theory as
you study this Biblical leader.
