Artistic, yes that's what cooking is all about, its an art, to some
it comes naturally while others need t be specially trained. I'm
one of those lucky ones, to me it was second nature, . My mom was
my mentor and my instructor, I have gained my inspiration for
cooking from her from a very young age, her passion for cooking
infused in me a greater passion to experiment with ingredients. She
taught me the art of blending, marinating and eventually obtaining
that special flavour to each dish. I would have loved to include
more recipes but due to constraint of space I had to limit myself.
However, I have tried to include as many of the standard recipes
and some special ones that I'm sure you are going to enjoy. Most of
my recipes are pretty simple and to make it easier in your
measurements I have used teaspoons, grams or cup measurements. All
the ingredients used are easily available at all Indian stores all
over the world. Most of my recipes serve 4 to 6 people just taking
into account that the meal would be shared by a group of people.
All these recipes have been tried and tested with years and years
of experience. I am sure you will enjoy this book and experiment
with these recipes. Happy Cooking Joan Peters
Through meaningful examples, Betty Carter's Love Honor and
Negotiate demonstrates how to tailor marriages to fit the pressures
of the real world. Family therapist Betty Carter's cutting-edge,
common-sense approach to helping marriages flourish is based on the
premise that couples today want to be equals, but the realities of
the workplace force them into traditional roles, especially after
they have children.
The next generation of women want a career and a life, but they
don't know how to get both. Having watched the boomer generation,
they know they don't want their options: sacrificing family life
for high-powered careers or consigning themselves to the "mommy
track." Not Your Mother's Life shows how today's young women are
uniquely poised to reach out and take--or create--the work/life
balance that proved so elusive for the boomers. The key, Peters
argues, is for women to use their newfound economic power to choose
their lives instead of letting their lives choose them. Full of
real-life examples of women who are doing it their own way, Not
Your Mother's Life offers this new generation a vision of how to
remake the work world according to their own needs--ultimately
benefiting women and men.
Drawing on the latest research and discussions with prominent
psychologists, Peters explains our deep-seated resistance to
mothering (and fathering) in new ways. With portraits of a dozen
real families, corporate and blue collar, religious and secular,
step- and single parents, urban and suburban,Peters illustrates the
strategies that make this new family life succeed.
