A dance romance double-bill. In 'Dirty Dancing' (1987) Frances 'Baby' Houseman (Jennifer Grey) is a teenage girl on holiday with her family at a resort in the Catskill Mountains. Stumbling upon an off-limits employees-only party, she witnesses the staff getting down and dirty to the R 'n' B hits of the day. The hotel's dance instructor Johnny (Patrick Swayze) catches her eye in particular, and, despite their differences in class, age and experience, the couple begin to fall in love. The soundtrack features the Oscar-winning song '(I've Had) the Time of My Life' as performed by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes. 'Dirty Dancing 2' (2004) follows the blossoming relationship between nice, well-brought-up American girl Katey (Romola Garai) and wrong-side-of-the-tracks Xavier (Diego Luna). 18-year-old Katey moves to Havana, Cuba with her parents in the late 1950s, just as the country teeters on the brink of a revolutionary uprising. She is instantly drawn to local bus-boy Xavier, and defies the wishes of her parents by accompanying him to a nightclub where he teaches her how to 'dirty' dance Cuban-style. The two grow increasingly close, but when Fidel Castro comes to power, Katey's parents decide to flee for the US - leaving Katey to make the ultimate decision. Patrick Swayze makes a cameo, reprising his 1987 role as Johnny Castle. The film features music by modern-day artists including Christina Aguilera, Wyclef Jean, Mya and Black Eyed Peas.

Academy Award-winning documentarian Alex Gibney directs this film which explores the scandals, cover ups and dark history of the Catholic Church. With a focus on the accusations of child molestation which have haunted the clergy for many years, the film gives a broad outline of the abuse that many have suffered at the hands of those deemed the holiest of men. As well as looking at the specifics of a particular case with the cooperation of the victims themselves, it makes claims that suggest a widespread and endemic negligence within the upper echelons of the Church.

'Mystic River' (2003) is based on the novel by Dennis Lehane. Set in the Irish community of Boston, it tells the story of three childhood friends who have drifted apart over the years owing to a violent and disturbing experience they shared as children, and are forcibly reunited many years later following another tragic event. When ex-con Jimmy Markum (Sean Penn)'s 19-year-old daughter Katie is murdered, the homicide detectives assigned to the case are Whitney Powers (Laurence Fishburne) and Jimmy's old friend Sean Devine (Kevin Bacon). Behind the scenes, Jimmy asks two of his relatives, the Savage brothers, to mount their own investigation, and the finger of suspicion begins to point to the final person in the childhood trio, Dave Boyle (Tim Robbins), who is now a broken man. 'Unforgiven' (1992) is a gritty Western set in 1880s Kansas. Ageing gunslinger-turned-farmer William Munny (Eastwood) reluctantly agrees to come out of retirement to help 'The Schofield Kid' (Jaimz Woolvett) collect the bounty on a wanted murderer. The man in question cut up a prostitute in a lawless town lorded over by the corrupt Sheriff 'Little Bill' Daggett (Gene Hackman), and if Munny, the kid, and Munny's partner, Ned Logan (Morgan Freeman), want to catch him they are going to have to deal with Daggett first.

Hemingway's classic novel of the First World War

The best American novel to emerge from World War I," A Farewell to Arms" is the unforgettable story of an American ambulance driver on the Italian front and his passion for a beautiful English nurse. Hemingway's frank portrayal of the love between Lieutenant Henry and Catherine Barkley, caught in the inexorable sweep of war, glows with an intensity unrivaled in modern literature, while his description of the German attack on Caporetto -- of lines of fired men marching in the rain, hungry, weary, and demoralized -- is one of the greatest moments in literary history. A story of love and pain, of loyalty and desertion," A Farewell to Arms," written when he was 30 years old, represents a new romanticism for Hemingway.

Ernest Hemingway did more to change the style of English prose than any other writer in the twentieth century, and for his efforts he was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1954. Hemingway wrote in short, declarative sentences and was known for his tough, terse prose. Publication of "The Sun Also Rises" and" A Farewell to Arms" immediately established Ernest Hemingway as one of the greatest literary lights of the twentieth century. As part of the expatriate community in 1920s Paris, the former journalist and World War I ambulance driver began a career that lead to international fame. Hemingway was an aficionado of bullfighting and big-game hunting, and his main protagonists were always men and women of courage and conviction, who suffered unseen scars, both physical and emotional. He covered the Spanish Civil War, portraying it in fiction in his brilliant novel" For Whom the Bell Tolls," and he subsequentlycovered World War II. His classic novella "The Old Man and the Sea" won the Pulitzer Prize in 1953. He died in 1961.

At first glance, the events in this audiobook may seem equal parts science fiction and legal thriller. Unfortunately, this is a true story of blinding greed, cruel deceit, unfortunate circumstance, and powerful human tragedy. It has villains and heroes, but it does not yet have a good ending.

Something's wrong in Libby, Montana. Residents are dying at a rate sixty times higher than the national average from a battery of insidious diseases, and they will continue to suffer for decades to come. The cause: a so-called miracle mineral that generations of families felt thankful for, until they discovered that the "miracle" was too good to be true -- and that the town's disturbing mortality rate was hardly an accident.

The scope of the treachery goes far beyond Libby. Even before the dust had settled following the September 11 terrorist attacks, those who live and work in lower Manhattan were voicing well-founded concerns about air quality around Ground Zero. Tests conducted at the site yielded conflicting results -- and possibly evidence of a continuing corporate and governmental cover-up that mirrors a pattern of deception threatening not only the physical health of millions of Americans but the financial stability of our economy.

In 1989, the EPA banned the manufacture, importation, processing, and distribution of commercial asbestos -- but the ban didn't hold. Asbestos is big business, rivaling tobacco in its profitability. By 1991, powerful corporate lobbyists succeeded in having the ban overturned. Today, asbestos remains an ingredient in more than three thousand products on sale in the United States and many more that are exported to developing nations around the globe.
