Offering specific insights about how to deal with those challenges, it argues that consideration of the role of all actors, and the whole spectrum of human rights violated, is crucial to properly address the root causes of violence and conflict as well as to contribute to a sustainable and positive peace. Fruit spirits are produced and consumed in many countries all over the world. Their production process involves many steps, each one of them having a considerable importance in the quality of the product obtained. The present book studies the potential of the Blanquilla pear for producing pear spirits. The research has been focused in the influence of three main aspects: the raw material used, the fermentation process, and the distillation process. The main volatile compounds present in the pear spirits obtained were identified and quantified, in order to determine how each of the aforementioned aspects affect their quality. The author intends by this way, to define the best operating conditions to produce a good quality pear spirit.

One hundred and seventy-eight men and women were exposed to the negative Velten mood induction procedure in order to examine how individual personality characteristics contributed to differences in their responses. Personality characteristics measured were chosen based on relationships with naturally occurring depression (locus of control, emotional intelligence, neuroticism, negative attributional style, self-critical perfectionism, rumination, silencing the self score). Locus of control and silencing the self score was correlated with change in happy mood and emotional intelligence was correlated with and predicted change in happy mood, while neuroticism was correlated with and predicted change in sad mood. Differences in findings related to happy and sad mood scores and the influence of emotion regulation on the results are discussed.

Ante un problema de desgaste es necesario elegir entre las diferentes configuraciones de ensayo disponibles, tratando de emular al maximo las condiciones reales. Pero este objetivo es dificilmente alcanzable, puesto que las variables y condiciones de servicio son tan particulares y concretas como posibles aplicaciones. Tampoco resulta practico ni viable disponer de tantos dispositivos de ensayo como posibilidades reales, por lo que el problema se traslada a conseguir la configuracion mas extrapolable posible. En este libro se pretende hacer un estudio del comportamiento tribologico de un acero sometido a distintos tratamientos termicos mediante tres tecnicas de ensayo diferentes recogidas en las normas ASTM: pin on disk, rueda de caucho y arena seca, y rueda de caucho y arena humeda. El objetivo es extraer conclusiones en cuanto a la diferencia de comportamiento de las distintas muestras en funcion de su dureza, y compararlas para las tres tecnicas, buscando saber si los resultados son equivalentes entre si."
