Alex has literally been born-again. He survived seven gunshots in a hail of bullets that claimed the life of his former street boss and Uncle, drug dealer Antwan Billows. Recognizing the purpose breathed into him by his mother on her death bed, Alex has overcome an addiction to drugs, alcohol, and women to raise his daughter and become youth pastor at Faith Tabernacle. With five years of clean living under his belt, it appeared that God was formulating the plan He had for Alex when with one fateful phone call he heard the voice of the woman he expected to marry. Only God could have orchestrated the circumstances of their meeting and the pain it would cause his family. Determined, the obstacles served to nourish the intended couple's faith. At the same time the youth ministry was growing under Alex's leadership and Alex's relationship with God was growing even stronger. As the enemy would have it, as soon as Alex began trusting in God, his picture perfect purpose began to get blurred by temptation. Nightmares began to haunt him and old habits unfurled like smoke from his lips. Hurt, resentment and despair started to replace faith, reverence and prayer.
