"What, Where, and How Much," controlled the author's lifestyle for seventeen years living in the Far East. This epic journey started with him working for our Uncle Sam sailing Chinese junks in the South China Sea. Leaving Uncle Sam started "smuggling" heavy boxes and people, money was hand-over-fist and a small fortune was banked. Hong Kong "night life" with "Long Dress Dancers" and "Sing Sing Girls" was the tease of plenty men and every seaport town had it's own specialty of offering "silk and lace" to the big spenders. You'll be able to read and feel the night breeze of Singapore and see the steam from the food carts of Buogy Street, watching the "Playgirls on Parade." Returning to Hawaii where the author grew up in poverty on a sugarcane plantation, he became a successful real estate developer, developing many projects, several of which changed the skyline of Honolulu. Romances along the way led to "heartaches" and the pain of mind and feelings started the writing of poetry...the Sun "Peeking" stole the night..."My Little Hummingbird" sat on air...and happiness was a new pair of shoes and a "Love Mate" I didn't want to lose.
Poems written by an author who rose from poverty to "Penthouses in the Sky," Macadamia Nut farm and Banana plantation with a beautiful country home and a playful beach house in Hawaii. Romances and heartaches from the Far East to Honolulu, finally, in the Flat Iron Ranch in North Texas he found love and happiness and the desire to share life's found feelings and thoughts. He lived playing the "boy/girl" Game of Tug-A-War. These poems were written by an author who walked his talk and now is sharing those experiences with you.
Poems lived by the author about the "Night Life of the Far East," love affairs with "Long Dress Dancers" the cooing doves of love loving love. The fun and play with those "Sing Sing Girls" at Walla Walla Bay, until the "peeking" of the morning sun. Read and sense the pleasure of a "body massage" at Bangkok's Torii House or flirt and giggle with the pretty young "Tongue Teasers" at Mama Tang's "Chiang Mai Club," your thoughts may make you blush. Many Guys have walked this land and even the desert sand, but whohas danced with Yokohana's Chinatown "Koolee Pants Girls," who rule the night? These "69 Poems" were selected from author's previously published books of poetry.
Poet LeRoy Robert Allen has experienced an exciting and unusual life. Many of his poems in "A Poet's Pen" relate to how he was raised on the road and educated in the school of hard knocks, and how he has been inspired by life's struggles, as well as, its pleasures. This Potpourri Collection of old poems previously published at different times by Allen, shows his ability to relate his thoughts to his readers. In "A Poet's Pen, " Allen shares a collection of his favorite poems selected from his portfolio written over the past fifty years. The final result, "A Poet's Pen, " offers enjoyment and provides a glimpse at life through the eyes of a man who has experienced it all and now shares his thoughts that we've never taught, plus a few memories in verse.

In "My Thoughts," Allen shares ideas that were never taught in any classroom, but are truly results from those winding curves and slippery slopes he tackled on the road of life. His passion now lies in his writing-lived, collected, and refined. The final result, "My Thoughts," offers enjoyment and provides a glimpse at life through the eyes of a man who has experienced it all and now shares his memories in verse.
