Fatherhood is in transition and being challenged by often contradictory forces: societal mandates to be both an active father and provider, men's own wish to be more involved with their children, and the institutional arrangements in which fathers work and live. This book explores these phenomena in the context of cross-national policies and their relation to the daily childcare practices of fathers. It presents the current state of knowledge on father involvement with young children in six countries from different welfare state regimes with unique policies related to parenting in general and fathers in particular: Finland, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, the UK and the USA.

Every verb in Modern Standard Arabic can be grouped with other verbs sharing identical patterns of conjugation. These patterns (groups) are presented as 120 conjugation tables which show how to conjugate any verb in all persons, tenses, and moods. Each form is followed by its transcription (pronunciation) to make the tables user-friendly for learners at all levels. An index lists nearly 4,000 of Arabic's most common verbs grouped by table. Although entries are arranged according to their roots, which can prove challenging for learners, various aids and strategies are presented to assist in finding the sought entry efficiently, including an alphabetical index of hard-to-find roots and a table on the back cover to assist in pinpointing a root's page number quickly. A wealth of information related to the headword is included: plural and elative forms, conjugations, grammatical structures, compound nouns, common phrases, idioms, and proverbs, as well as example sentences when required to make the usage or meaning clear.
