When Carpenter, Bob Goodner built his home on the side of the
mountain, for his wife Mary the wooden house became the most
extraordinary house in the village of Saba where they live. It is
the envy of Saba's richer citizens. The couple has eight children.
Bob fulfilling the wishes of his wife, crafted a piece of furniture
for each of his children on which they were born, not knowing how
important these furnishings would be to them. The Goodners were
happy until an accident forced the family to mortgage their home
with the ruthless Mr. Sipal Quartermine the village banker who had
always wanted to possess the Goodner's house. The family struggled
to pay the mortgage for several years until another catastrophic
event limited the family's income and months before the loan was
paid off, the banker foreclosed on the Goodner's beloved home and
moved into it with his wife. Forced out of their home, and leaving
all their furnishings behind, the Goodners move in with their
friends, Lloyd and Lori Smith. The children miss their home and
furniture desperately and want nothing more than to return to them.
In this children's book titled, "The Wooden Children of Saba" the
story continues when the eight Goodner children, Sofia, Chris,
Tabatha, Ben, the twins, Sirius and Patrick, Toby and little Adora,
meet an old woman named Sabina who is a magician banished from her
clan. Sabina uses her limited magic to put an enchantment on the
children turning them into their beloved furniture at night.
Disguised as furniture in their former home the children and Sabina
attempt to frighten Mr. Quartermine and his wife away by playing
tricks on them but in the meantime learn how diabolical the banker
really is. How are the Goodner children with the help of Sabina
going to get the most incredible house in Saba back?
