A gripping autobiography from missionary and Bible courier Paul
Hattaway, author of The Heavenly Man Paul Hattaway was a
high-school dropout from New Zealand--homeless, hungry, and
lonely--before he found faith. But once he encountered the love of
God and read the Bible, Paul never looked back. The rest of his
life has centered on making sure all the people of Asia have Bibles
of their own. Through Asian Harvest, Paul has traveled to Laos,
Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, Thailand, and many other Asian
countries bringing the gospel with him. His ministry has provided
over ten million Bibles to China alone, and has sponsored more than
fifteen hundred Asian missionaries. The story of Paul's conversion,
the fascinating places he's faithfully followed God to, the
struggles with the realities of the mission field and other
missionaries, and the incredible miracles God has performed along
the way make An Asian Harvest a remarkable, inspiring read.
Paul Hattaway tells the story of one of China's house church leaders a man who has suffered prolonged torture for his faith. It is the account of how God took a young boy from a poor village and used him mightily to preach the gospel despite intense persecution.
Living Water is a compelling saga of Brother Yun s sacrifice to
bring Jesus and the Bible to non-believers. Through his dynamic
teachings, Brother Yun shares a message of radical trust and
authentic Christian discipleship to churches around the world.
Using the message of the Bible and interweaving it with stories of
life-changing faith, Living Water distills the wisdom of this
courageous Christian man who suffered intense persecution for his
beliefs. Brother Yun challenges Christians to go deeper in their
faith, and become bold in their witness for Christ. He shows how
God can make you as bold as a lion, and bring your days as a timid
Christian to an end. The book of Acts continues today in the lives
of courageous believers like Brother Yun. An inspirational
challenge to deeper discipleship, Living Water offers moving
stories of struggles and victories, miracles of grace and mountains
moved."
This is the first of a series of up to 20 volumes focusing on the
modern history of the church in China. The books will, for the most
part, cover one province each, and will be organised by decades.
Each history starts with the arrival of the first evangelical
missionaries in a province, and continues through to the present
day. The books include many vivid brief biographies of the
extraordinary people who have been part of this remarkable story.
Each volume includes a number of photographs, painstakingly
collected by the author over a period of years. Partly because of
its explosive growth in recent decades there is no accurate,
readable account of what has happened to the Chinese church. Few
Chinese believers know anyone who has been a Christian for more
than ten years. This series is designed not only to inform the
wider world of the astonishing work of the Spirit in China, but to
provide Chinese believers (and members of the immense Chinese
diaspora) with some sense of their own roots.
There is a tendency today to associate revival and miracles with
charismatic churches, but there were none of those in Nagaland when
God first brought revival there. These powerful and life-changing
visitations came to orderly, conservative Baptist congregations. As
a result, Nagas found their true dignity not in themselves, their
ethnic roots, their head-hunting, or the defense of their homeland,
but they discovered it in the person and life of Jesus Christ, the
living and one true God. This is a moving story of bravery and
betrayal, suffering, persecution, supernatural intervention, and
subsequent human weakness.
Napoleon once said "When China is moved it will change the face of
the globe." Today those words are becoming a reality through the
powerful spiritual vision of the Chinese church to send 100,000
missionaries across China's borders to complete the Great
Commission, even in this generation. Here Brother Yun, Peter Xu
Yongze, and Enoch Wang, three Chinese house church leaders who
between them have spent more than 40 years in prison for their
faith, explain the history and present-day reality of the Back to
Jerusalem movement. Christians everywhere who are called to fulfill
the Great Commission will be thrilled by this testimony and
inspired to live bolder lives as disciples of Jesus Christ.
