In many areas of the United States, parents who were never married,
those who are separated, divorcing or involved in paternity actions
and they have minor children, are required to take a 4-hour
parenting education course before their legal actions can be
finalized. Parenting courses provide important information
regarding how the lives of adults and children could change when
families break up. Through these courses, parents also learn about
their expected roles and their responsibilities as separated or
divorced co-parents, and they are empowered with steps that they
can take, which could lessen the pain and the trauma that is too
often a reality, especially for children, following divorce. This
book provides parents of minor children, with basic information
that they need to have before they take the final step towards
ending their marriage. It is available with full color (FC) and
black and white interiors. The author, Dr. Percy Ricketts, has been
a Psychotherapist and Parenting Consultant for almost two decades.
He is an alumnus of Virginia Tech, Nova Southeastern University and
Argosy University, with a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health
Counseling and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology. He has
authored several books on a variety of topics and he developed the
"Parenting for Divorce" curriculum (www.parentingfordivorce.com).
He also founded the "Men's Mental Health Center" (2013), in
Pembroke Pines, Florida (www.mensmentalhealthcenter.com).

break or just a weekend, finding simple, meaningful, enjoyable and
inexpensive activities in which children and teens can be engaged,

the children and teens as well. Still, so many valuable resources
are readily available in communities and in every home that this
should really not be so difficult. The activities in this book are
simple, common, and enjoyable ones that children and teens have
suggested. Numerous full color photograps are included for
illustrative enhancement.
