Nanomaterials can be synthesized by physical, chemical, and
biological methods; however, the latter technique is preferred as
it is eco-friendly, non-toxic, and cost-effective. The green
synthesized nanomaterials have been found to be more efficient with
potential applications in diverse fields. It is crucial to explore
green synthesized nanomaterials and the applications that can be
made in order to support water remediation, pharmaceuticals, food
processing, construction, and more. The Handbook of Research on
Green Synthesis and Applications of Nanomaterials provides a
multidisciplinary approach to the awareness of using non-toxic,
eco-friendly, and economical green techniques for the synthesis of
various nanomaterials, as well as their applications across a
variety of fields. Covering topics such as antimicrobial
applications, environmental remediation, and green synthesis, this
book acts as a thorough reference for engineers, nanotechnology
professionals, academicians, students, scientists, and researchers
pursuing research in the nanotechnology field.
Nanotechnology has the potential to drastically transform agri-food
sector with its significant applications to improve the
agricultural productivity, and efficiency of agrochemicals. Food
sector has been benefitted through the inclusion of nanoparticles
in food matrix, and nanoencapsulation of nutraceuticals. Smart
packaging materials designed with the help of nanotechnology has
been used for increasing shelf life of stored food products.
Nanomaterials have been extensively used for the delivery of
important agrochemicals to enhance their bio efficacy, prevent them
from degradation, and controlled release. Various nanomaterials
have been explored for remediation of arising environmental issues.
Nanotechnology also has made useful contribution in utilization of
huge agricultural and food wastes for production of valuable
products. The existing and the emerging applications of
nanotechnology will add to environmental sustainability.
Nanotechnology for Sustainable Agriculture, Food and Environment
has been structured to provide a widespread coverage and up to date
progress of nanotechnology and its applications in agri-food sector
and environmental remediation. Synthesis of value-added
nanomaterials from agri-food wastes and their potential
applications in environmental remediation has been explored. In
addition, toxicity issues of nanomaterials have also been
discussed. Features: 1) Elaborated information on use of
nanotechnology for sustainable agriculture 2) In-depth study about
valorisation of agri-food waste 3) An overview of applications of
nanotechnology in environmental remediation 4) Toxicity analysis of
nanotechnology-based products We aim to satisfy the need of
reference book for scientists, researchers, academicians and
students in nanotechnology, agricultural, food, nutraceuticals,
environmental and material sectors.
Document from the year 2012 in the subject Chemistry -
Macromolecular Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, grade: -, Gurukula
Kangri University, language: English, abstract: Supra-molecular
chemistry is one of the most popular areas of experimental
chemistry because of the presence of a number of supra-molecular
assemblies in nature. SURFACTANTS and CROWN ETHERS, representing
the Colloidal systems and Macrocycles respectively, are the two
significant parts of supra-molecular chemistry. The present work is
based on the aim to study the crown ether- surfactant interactions.
