From David McIntee, writer of "Doctor Who", comes a new "Ray
Harryhausen Presents" adventure! The quest to find the Golden
Fleece is over, but now Jason and his band of Argonauts must embark
on a new and more difficult journey - the journey home. Pursued by
a vengeful Aeetes, the Argonauts will brave many dangers, and
encounter old friends and new enemies. But when the gods play
games, no one can avoid reaching the lands of the dead forever.
This is a sequel to the cult film! In the 1950s, the U.S. Navy
encountered and destroyed a gigantic octopus that attacked shipping
and wreaked havoc on the west coast of the United States. American
forces killed the creature and ended the threat once and for
all...or so they thought. They were wrong! Now, another monster is
rising in the warm blue waters surrounding Taru Taru, a speck of
land far out in the Pacific. And this time it's worse than anyone
ever imagined!
This book opens with a foreword by special effects pioneer Ray
Harryhausen (The 7th Voyage of Sinbad) and a biographical essay on
Knight by William Stout (The New Dinosaurs). The autobiographical
pieces feature illustrations by Mark Schultz (Xenozoic Tales). To
round out the volume, it closes with memories from his
granddaughter Rhoda Knight Kalt and appreciations from prominent
names in the arts and sciences, from Ray Bradbury to Ian
Tattersall. Though Knight once said "No one interests me less than
Charles Knight," find out why artists such as Frank Frazetta, Mark
Hallett, Doug Henderson, Joe Kubert, Al Williamson, and Bernie
Wrightson have said that no one interests them more!
