Measurement of solid tumor response to treatment relies mainly on
imaging. WHO tumor response criteria and, more recently, RECIST
(response evaluation criteria in solid tumors) have provided means
to objectively measure tumor response in clinical trials with
imaging. These guidelines have been rapidly adopted in clinical
practice to monitor patient treatment and for therapy planning.
However, relying only on anatomical information is not always
sufficient when evaluating new drugs that will reduce a tumor's
functionality while preserving its size. Finding more reliable and
reproducible measures of tumor response is one of the most
important and difficult challenges facing modern radiology as it
requires an entirely new approach to imaging. The aim of this book
is to address the assessment of response to treatment by adopting a
multidisciplinary perspective, just as occurs in real life in a
comprehensive cancer center. Oncologists and imaging experts
consider two cancer models, locally advanced disease and metastatic
disease, jointly exploring both conventional and advanced means of
measuring response to standard treatment protocols and new targeted
therapies.
The collaboration of director and actor is the cornerstone of
narrative filmmaking. This book provides the director with a
concrete step-by-step guide to preparation that connects the
fundamentals of film-script analysis with the actor's process of
preparation. This book starts with how to identify the overall
scope of a project from the creative perspective of the director as
it relates to guiding an actor, before providing a blueprint for
preparation that includes script analysis, previsualization, and
procedures for rehearsal and capture. This methodology allows the
director to uncover the similarities and differences between actor
and director in their preparation to facilitate the development of
a collaborative dialogue. Featuring chapter-by-chapter exercises
and assignments throughout, this book provides a method that
enables the director to be present during every stage of production
and seamlessly move from prep to filming, while guiding the actor
to their best performances. Written in a clear and concise manner,
it is ideal for students of directing, early career, and
self-taught directors, as well as cinematographers, producers, or
screenwriters looking to turn their hand to directing for the first
time.

Ernest De Regge was a major influence in the development of Church
Music in the Diocese of Killaloe (1923-1958). He was an
accomplished musician, organist and composer and much of his music
was performed by the choir and broadcast on RTE. Under the auspices
of An tOireachtas, he arranged Irish melodies for school choirs and
received many national and international awards for his work.
Ernest De Regge, was born in Overmere, Flanders. In 1922 he
received the degree of Licentiate in Music from the prestigious
Lemmens Music Conservatory in Malines, claiming first place in
composition, while his classmate, the world famous Flor Peeters,
took the prize for organ. From 1900, Lemmens sent its organists and
other musicians to Ireland where there were well-maintained organs
and musical people, but no facilities for formal training. In 1923,
Bishop Fogarty appointed De Regge as Music Professor at St.
Flannan's College and organist-choirmaster in the Cathedral of SS
Peter and Paul. The bishop's aim was to implement the instruction
of Pope Pius X to simplify choir music. In St. Flannan's (a junior
seminary), the young graduate would be instructing future clergy of
the Diocese in musical literacy and giving them a firm grounding in
Gregorian Chant. In the early 1930's, the new Irish Republic was
anxious to acquire and publish new Irish music through An Gum (the
State publishing company). De Regge composed almost 300 works for
choirs of mixed voices, songs based upon English and Irish texts,
masses, motets, piano and organ pieces. Because the career of this
prolific and talented musician was cut short and his promise not
fully realized, this story, as reported by his eldest daughter,
aims to capture something of the man and times.
Fiction/Ghost "Who's that kid?" "What kid, sweetie?" "That kid,
right there. See? In that window way on top. He's waving." Jesse
smiled her biggest company smile and waved back. "Nobody here but
us chickens," Nora laughed. "You're imagining things." When Nora
and Ted decide to leave New York City and return to New Milford,
Pennsylvania, they have to come to grips with their past and build
a new future together. It's not easy, and they are happy that
Jesse, their five-year-old daughter, has an invisible, make-believe
friend in the toy room to distract and entertain her. But what if
the friend isn't really invisible, or really make-believe? As Nora
fights the recent past that haunts her, she is haunted by another
past-the past of the boy in the toy room. Is Nora losing her mind,
or is there a chance that Jesse's friend is very, very real?
"If Deidra Shay had known she was dead, she might have made
different choices. But that's the nice thing about not knowing
you're dead-it doesn't really worry you that much-not at first,
anyway." When her best friend, Jesse, finds her body and is pulled
away screaming and crying, Deidra follows her home--and all hell
breaks loose. Friends and family are pulled into a maze of love and
sex, revenge and redemption as Jesse and Deidra struggle to figure
out how to go on living, after waking up dead

Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Jura -

Ruhr-Universitat Bochum (Juristische Fakultat), Veranstaltung:
Masterstudiengang Kriminologie und Polizeiwissenschaft, Sprache:
Deutsch, Anmerkungen: Diese Masterthesisim Studiengang Criminology
Berufswahl Polizist/Polizistin
