Batman
The streets of Gotham City are no longer safe for criminals, who are being picked off by a masked vigilante in a rubber suit - dubbed 'Batman' by the press. Reporter Alexander Knox (Robert Wuhl) teams with photographer Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger) in an attempt to discover Batman's true identity - an investigation which leads them to the door of mysterious millioniare Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton). Meanwhile, crime boss Carl Grissom's (Jack Palance) attempt to rid himself of untrustworthy henchman Jack Napier (Jack Nicholson) does not go according to plan, and after emerging physically - and mentally - disfigured from a vat of chemicals, Napier reinvents himself as the psychotic Joker.

Batman Returns
Oswald Cobblepot was abandoned by his parents as a baby. Thirty three years later, bent on revenge, he returns to Gotham City as the Penguin (Danny DeVito). Beetlejuice
The Maitlands (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) are a happy couple who, when killed in a car crash, return as ghosts to their beloved home to wreak havoc on the ghastly yuppie family who have moved in. Being novices at haunting, their efforts go unnoticed by the house's new inhabitants except Goth daughter Lydia (Winona Ryder), who doesn't mind one bit. At their wit's end, the ghostly couple call on a despicably disgusting demon named 'Beetlejuice' (Michael Keaton) for help.

One of the President's advisers, Donald Kessler (Pierce Brosnan), has been studying the aliens, and is keen to make peaceful contact. However, the Martians gleefully fry their greeting party from Earth, and launch an all-out attack on the planet. Various celebrity faces including Michael J. Fox, Danny DeVito, Sarah Jessica Parker and Martin Short appear briefly before being zapped by the Martian baddies in director Tim Burton's quirky spoof of alien invasion movies.

Sweeney Todd
Based on a 'penny dreadful' tale (which later became an urban myth) from the mid-19th Century, this musical tells the tale of Benjamin Barker (Depp), a barber who returns to London after spending years in exile for a crime he didn't commit. He soon discovers from pie-maker Mrs Lovett (Bonham Carter) that, in his absence, his wife has taken her own life and his daughter is now in the care of the man who had him sent away - the dastardly Judge Turpin (Alan Rickman). Seeking revenge and filled with a murderous rage, Barker sets up a barber's shop above Mrs Lovett's premises. Now calling himself Sweeney Todd, Barker kills off all his customers with a razor to the throat and sends their cadavers to the shop below to be used as a tasty new filling for Mrs Lovett's meat pies. What was once the worst pie shop in London quickly becomes one of the city's most popular eateries, but Barker won't be satisfied until he can lure Judge Turpin into the barber's chair...

But when things go wrong at the wedding rehearsal, Victor goes into the woods to practice his vows. Just as soon as he gets them right, he finds himself married to Emily, the corpse bride. While Victoria waits on the other side, there's a rich newcomer that may take Victor's place. So two brides, one groom, who will Victor pick?

Family adventure based on the novel by Roald Dahl. The film centres around an eccentric chocolatier, Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp), and Charlie Bucket (Freddie Highmore), a good-hearted boy from a poor family who lives in the shadow of Wonka's extraordinary factory. Most nights in the Bucket home, dinner is a watered-down bowl of cabbage soup, which young Charlie gladly shares with his mother (Helena Bonham Carter) and father (Noah Taylor) and both pairs of grandparents. They all live in a tiny, tumbledown, drafty old house but it is filled with love. Every night, the last thing Charlie sees from his window is the great factory, and he drifts off to sleep dreaming about what might be inside. For nearly fifteen years, no one has seen a single worker going in or coming out of the factory, or caught a glimpse of Willy Wonka himself, yet, mysteriously, great quantities of chocolate are still being made and shipped to shops all over the world. One day Willy Wonka makes a momentous announcement. He will open his famous factory and reveal 'all of its secrets and magic' to five lucky children who find golden tickets hidden inside five randomly selected Wonka chocolate bars. When Charlie finds some money on the snowy street and takes it to the nearest store for a Wonka Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight he finds a golden ticket. The family decides that Grandpa Joe (David Kelly) should be the one to accompany Charlie on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Once inside, Charlie is dazzled by one amazing sight after another.

Planet of the Apes (1968)
Charlton Heston and Roddy McDowall star in this legendary science fiction masterpiece. Astronaut Taylor (Heston) crash lands on a distant planet ruled by apes who use a primitive race of humans for experimentation and sport. Soon Taylor finds himself among the hunted, his life in the hands of a benevolent chimpanzee scientist (McDowall).

Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970)
In the acclaimed sequel to Planet of the Apes, another astronaut (James Franciscus) crashes through the time barrier searching for the missing Taylor. The daring rescue leads to a subterranean city where mutant humans, who practice mind control, worship a weapon capable of destroying the entire planet. Both an action-oriented science-fiction adventure and a wry commentary on today's world, it's imaginative entertainment for fantasy buffs of all ages.

Escape From the Planet of the Apes (1971)
Roddy McDowall and Kim Hunter reprise their roles from the original Planet of the Apes in this third chapter of the Apes saga. Two intelligent simians from the future, Cornelius (McDowall) and Zire (Hunter) travel to present-day Earth. They become instant sensations, wined and dined and treated like celebrities--until a high-level plot forces them to run for their lives.

Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972)
Colourful, futuristic sets, a relentless pace and an action-packed climax highlight the fourth episode of the legendary Apes saga, starring Roddy McDowall and Ricardo Montalban. The time is the near future. Apes have supplanted dogs and cats as household pets, and replaced servants as personal assistants--until their continual mistreatment provokes one advanced ape from the future, Caesar (McDowall), to lead a spectacular revolt. It's thrilling science fiction that offers both a serious message and stirring entertainment.

Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973)
Roddy McDowall and Claude Akins star in the fifth chapter of the legendary Apes saga. Set in 2670 A.D., an idyllic society of man and ape is threatened by both a militant gorilla (Akins) and a tribe of still-intelligent mutant humans. Finally, simmering tensions dividing the primates erupt in an apocalyptic climax. When the smoke clears, the carnage is everywhere, but there is hope for a new beginning for man and ape. Co-starring John Huston, Paul Williams, and Lew Ayres.

Planet of the Apes (2001)
Tim Burton's 're-imagining' of the 1968 original. Mark Wahlberg stars in Tim Burton's action-packed epic as an astronaut who crash lands onto a savage planet where talking apes rule over humans. Now he must defeat an entire gorilla army and reach a temple that holds the secrets of mankind's past... and the last hope for its salvation.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)
James Franco stars as Will Rodman, a genetic engineer working in present-day San Francisco who is performing scientific tests on apes in his attempt to find a cure for Alzheimer's. His first test subject is Caesar (Andy Serkis), the prototype of a new breed of apes with human-like intelligence. But when Caesar breaks free, a revolution is triggered and an epic war for supremacy breaks out between humankind and the primates of the world.

Tim Burton's film version of the Stephen Sondheim musical starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.

Box set of eight classic Clint Eastwood films. In 'Play Misty for Me' (1971) Dave Garland (Clint Eastwood) is a Californian DJ who runs a late night call-in show, and receives regular requests from a female caller for Erroll Garner's 'Misty'. The fan, Evelyn Draper (Jessica Walter), turns out to be a maniacal stalker. In the western 'High Plains Drifter' (1973) the unwelcome arrival of a stranger (Eastwood) in the town of Lagos causes resentment and fear among the locals. However, when they come under threat from a band of escaped convicts, it is to the stranger that the townsfolk turn for salvation. In 'The Beguiled' (1970), during the American Civil War, a wounded Union soldier (Eastwood) is taken in by the all-female staff of a Confederate Louisiana girls' school as their 'prize'. However, the soldier cunningly plays the women off against each other, working on their sexual frustrations and biding his time until he can make an escape. 'Breezy' (1973) is an Eastwood-directed effort in which Breezy (Kay Lenz) is a teenage hippy hitchhiker taken advantage of by a ruthless rotter who wants to use her for sex. She escapes in a remote area and meets kindly middle-aged man Frank Harmon (William Holden) whom she hopes will take her in. Harmon is (rightfully) reluctant and his worst imaginable scenario comes true when the impressionable teen falls in love with him. In 'Joe Kidd' (1972) Eastwood plays a drunken tracker coerced by American business tycoon Robert Duvall to go in search of Mexican agitator John Saxon. The film is scripted by renowned crime writer Elmore Leonard. In 'Two Mules for Sister Sarah' (1969) a gold-digger (Eastwood) in old Mexico shows his fundamentally noble nature by saving a 'nun' (Shirley Maclaine) from being raped. She turns out in fact to be a prostitute, and the odd couple team up, facing continual confrontation with the French forces. In 'Coogan's Bluff' (1968) Eastwood is Arizona deputy Walt Coogan, sent to New York city to escort a prisoner home. The prisoner isn't ready to be transferred back to Arizona so Coogan cuts a few corners. This helps the prisoner escape and, after Coogan clashes with the Sherrif McElroy (Lee J. Cobb), he is ordered back to Arizona. In 'The Eiger Sanction' (1975) college lecturer Jonathan Hemlock (Eastwood) tops up his university paypacket by carrying out the occasional assassination. His latest assignment involves joining a climbing expedition up the Eiger, identifying the Russian killer amongst the group, and then neutralising his threat.

All eight films in the science-fiction franchise thus far. In 'Planet of the Apes' (1968) a group of astronauts, led by George Taylor (Charlton Heston), crash lands on a strange planet where mute humans are treated as slaves by intelligent apes. Taylor is hunted down and captured by horse-riding gorillas, and then taken for experimentation by chimpanzee Dr Zira (Kim Hunter). When Zira discovers Taylor's intelligence, she and her fiancť, Cornelius (Roddy McDowall), appeal to the governing council on his behalf, but the appeal fails, leaving the astronaut no choice but to go on the run. Fleeing for his freedom, Taylor soon makes a shocking discovery about the provenance of this strange planet. In 'Beneath the Planet of the Apes' (1970) astronaut Brent (James Franciscus) is on a special mission to rescue George Taylor (Heston). After travelling to the ape village where he was imprisoned, he meets Dr Zira (Hunter) and learns that Taylor was last seen in the Forbidden Zone. Setting off in pursuit he soon discovers that his colleague has been taken prisoner by an underground society of telepathic mutant humans who worship an atomic warhead. In 'Escape from the Planet of the Apes' (1971) Dr Zira (Hunter), Cornelius (McDowall) and Dr Milo (Sal Mineo) escape the nuclear devastation of Earth by travelling back in time in Taylor's spaceship, arriving in Los Angeles in the year 1973. They are initially held in captivity in a zoo, where Milo is attacked and killed by a savage gorilla. When Zira and Cornelius prove their intelligence they are released and hailed as celebrities, but some resent the apes' arrival, seeing them as a threat to human supremacy. In 'Conquest of the Planet of the Apes' (1972) the year is now 1991. Caesar (McDowall), the son of Zira and Cornelius, has been sheltered for 18 years by circus owner Armando (Ricardo Montalban). Following a plague which wiped out all cats and dogs, apes have been adopted as pets by humans, but when Caesar sees them being treated as slaves, he leads his fellow simians in rebellion against their overlords. 'Battle for the Planet of the Apes' (1973) opens in the year 2670 with the ape Lawgiver (John Huston) relating how, following the 1991 simian rebellion, mankind embarked on a terrible nuclear war. In the devastation which followed, Caesar (McDowall) and the apes seized control, ruling benevolently over the human survivors, and working to rebuild society. However, civil war was being fomented by ambitious gorilla general Aldo (Claude Akins), and when Caesar ventured into the devastated city to seek out recordings of his late parents, Cornelius and Zira, he incurred the wrath of a group of mutant human survivors. In 'Planet of the Apes' (2001), Tim Burton's 're-imagining' of the 1968 original, the year is 2029, and Capt. Leo Davidson (Mark Wahlberg) is aboard a spaceship trying to teach apes how to become space pilots. During a routine reconnaissance mission outside the mothership, Leo is sucked into a space-time hole and minutes later makes a crash landing on a strange planet where humans are subjugated by talking apes. Just as a quick death at the hands of the violent ape leader General Thade (Tim Roth) seems inevitable, Leo is rescued by the ape scientist Ari (Helena Bonham Carter). In 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' (2011) James Franco stars as Will Rodman, a genetic engineer working in present-day San Francisco who is performing scientific tests on apes in his attempt to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease. His first test subject is Caesar (Andy Serkis), the prototype of a new breed of ape with human-like intelligence. But when Caesar breaks free, a revolution is triggered and an epic war for supremacy breaks out between humankind and the primates of the world. Finally, in 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' (2014), Caesar, the hyper-intelligent ape produced by human experimentation, is now the leader of a growing band of cognisant simians as a fragile truce prevails between the apes and humans. Many consider the outbreak of war to only be a matter of time, however, since the human population has been vastly reduced by a devastating virus and their role as the dominant species on Earth is in question. As tensions rise, it may only take a single spark to trigger an explosive war that will pit the humans against the apes in an all-out battle for survival...

Collection of eight films from director Tim Burton. In 'Batman' (1989) the streets of Gotham City are no longer safe for criminals, who are being picked off by a masked vigilante in a rubber suit - dubbed 'Batman' by the press. Reporter Alexander Knox (Robert Wuhl) teams with photographer Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger) in an attempt to discover Batman's true identity - an investigation which leads them to the door of mysterious millionaire Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton). Meanwhile, crime boss Carl Grissom (Jack Palance)'s attempt to rid himself of untrustworthy henchman Jack Napier (Jack Nicholson) does not go according to plan, and after emerging physically - and mentally - disfigured from a vat of chemicals, Napier reinvents himself as the psychotic Joker... In 'Batman Returns' (1992) Oswald Cobblepot (Danny DeVito), who was abandoned by his parents as a baby 33 earlier, is bent on revenge and returns to Gotham City as the Penguin. First he begins a warped campaign to become Mayor, helped by millionaire businessman Max Shreck (Christopher Walken), and then he undertakes a mission to murder every first born son in Gotham - a plan which will avenge his own beginnings. Meanwhile, he has two adversaries to contend with: Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer), the embittered ex-secretary of Max Shreck, and, of course, the old caped crusader himself - Batman. 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' (2005), based on the novel by Roald Dahl, follows eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp) and Charlie Bucket (Freddie Highmore), a good-hearted boy from a poor family who lives in the shadow of Wonka's extraordinary factory. For nearly 15 years, no one has seen a single worker going in or coming out of the factory, or caught a glimpse of Willy Wonka himself, yet, mysteriously, great quantities of chocolate are still being made and shipped to shops all over the world. In 'Mars Attacks!' (1996) Martians arrive on planet Earth and American President James Dale (Nicholson) is persuaded to extend the hand of friendship. One of the President's advisers, Donald Kessler (Pierce Brosnan), has been studying the aliens and is keen to make peaceful contact. However, the Martians gleefully fry their greeting party from Earth and launch an all-out attack on the planet. In 'Beetlejuice' (1988) the Maitlands (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) are a happy couple who, when killed in a car crash, return as ghosts to their beloved home to wreak havoc on the ghastly yuppie family who have moved in. Being novices at haunting, their efforts go unnoticed by the house's new inhabitants except for goth daughter Lydia (Winona Ryder), who doesn't mind one bit. At their wit's end, the ghostly couple call on a despicably disgusting demon named 'Beetlejuice' (Keaton) for help. The animated 'Corpse Bride' (2005), set in a 19th century European village, follows Victor (voiced by Depp), a young man who is whisked away to the underworld and wed to a mysterious Corpse Bride (Bonham Carter), while his real bride, Victoria (Emily Watson), waits bereft in the land of the living. Though life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colourful than his strict Victorian upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world, or the next, that can keep him away from his one true love. Musical 'Sweeney Todd - the Demon Barber of Fleet Street' (2007), based on a 'penny dreadful' tale (which later became an urban myth) from the mid-19th century, tells the tale of Benjamin Barker (Depp), a barber who returns to London after spending years in exile for a crime he didn't commit. Finally, 'Pee-wee's Big Adventure' (1985) follows man-child Pee-wee Herman (Paul Reubens) who goes on an adventure to recover his new bicycle after it is stolen. Along the way he encounters bikers, bums, convicts and a phantom trucker.

Orson Welles stars in this 1950s crime drama based on the novel by Meyer Levin, which in turn is based on a real legal case that took place in 1920s Chicago. Two wealthy law students, Judd Steiner (Dean Stockwell) and Arthur Strauss (Bradford Dillman), decide that they can get away with committing the perfect murder. They kidnap and kill the teenage son of a millionaire, but a pair of spectacles left at the crime scene leads to them being identified as the murderers. Their families hire America's top lawyer Jonathan Wilk (Welles) - a known opponent of the death penalty - to defend them in their trial, and Wilk goes on to make American legal history by successfully arguing in favour of a life sentence rather than the pair's execution.
