Principles of management accounting 2nd edition is an accessible,
entry-level management accounting textbook for university students
aimed at second- and third-year students at universities and
universities of technology, as well as those following MBA courses
in accounting and finance. The book covers
undergraduate-appropriate topics from the management accounting
syllabus of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants
(SAICA). In doing so, most aspects of the relevant papers' syllabi
of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), as
well as those of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
(ACCA) are dealt with too. The contributors are from a range of
South African tertiary institutions ensuring that the book is
representative of the way management accounting is taught in this
country and taking cognizance of the areas in which students have
difficulty.

Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not
used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad
quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are
images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to
keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the
original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain
imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made
available for future generations to enjoy.

In the early 1980s, Springfield Remanufacturing Corporation (SRC)
in Springfield, Missouri, was a near bankrupt division of
International Harvester. Today it's one of the most successful and
competitive companies in the United States, with a share price 3000
times what it was thirty years ago. This miracle turnaround is all
down to one man, Jack Stack, and his revolutionary system of
Open-Book Management, in which every employee understands the
company's key figures, can act on them and has a real stake in the
business. In Stack's own words: 'When employees think, act and feel
like owners ... everybody wins.' As a management strategy, 'the
great game of business' is so simple and effective that it's been
taken up by companies from Intel to Harley Davidson.
Cultural Writing. Political Science. Cutting through the myths,
misunderstandings, and neglect that have obscured the influence of
Darwinism on radical thought, this detailed account examines the
paradoxical challenges that Darwinism posed for late 19th- and
early 20th- century socialism. This study shows that Darwin
provided British socialists from Alfred Russel Wallace to Emile
Vandervelde with a new language of political expression, and that
socialist thought developed through interaction with the most
advanced biological theories of the day.
