Double bill of adventure films. 'Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief' (2010), based on the children's books by Rick Riordan, follows the adventures of 12-year-old New Yorker Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman). When Percy discovers that he is the descendant of a Greek god, he sets out on a cross-country adventure to settle an ongoing feud between the 'Big Three', Zeus (Sean Bean), Hades (Steve Coogan) and Poseidon (Kevin McKidd), and unravel a mystery more powerful than the gods themselves. 'Eragon' (2006), based on the best-selling novel by Christopher Paolini, follows the fortunes of an orphaned farm boy, Eragon (Edward Speleers), whose life is changed forever when a mystic stone chooses him for its keeper. When the stone turns out to be an egg from which a baby dragon is hatched, Eragon realises he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself. With only an ancient sword and the advice of an old storyteller (Jeremy Irons) for guidance, Eragon and the fledgling dragon (voiced by Rachel Weisz) must navigate the dangerous terrain of an Empire ruled by a king whose evil knows no bounds.
Drama about four strangers (Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Clive Owen), their chance meetings, instant attractions and brutal betrayals. One day he meets Alice (Natalie Portman), a beautiful American and they immediately fall for each other. Dan initially returns her affection but soon her neediness begins to wear on him. Anna (Julia Roberts) is a photographer who is hired to take a portrait of Dan for the dust jacket of his book. Dan becomes attracted to her but she soon meets Larry (Clive Owen), a dermatologist, and marries him. Dan can't get Anna out of his mind even though she's married, and the two become lovers, but Dan is frustrated by the fact that Anna is reluctant to leave Larry for him.
Drama set against the backdrop of the 1960s American civil rights movement, based on the best-selling novel by Kathryn Stockett. It is 1964 and racism is rife in Jackson, Mississippi. Skeeter (Emma Stone), the strong-willed daughter of a well-to-do family, returns to the town from college to take up a role at the local newspaper. However, working as a 'homemaker hints' columnist in the paper is by no means the extent of Skeeter's ambitions. Disturbed by the negative attitude of her friend, Hilly Holbrook (Bryce Dallas Howard), towards her house staff, Skeeter decides to write a book chronicling the experiences of the black maids who have spent much of their lives serving her and her contemporaries. Initially, the maids seem reluctant and suspicious. However, when the much-respected Aibileen (Viola Davis) comes forward to offer her story, the floodgates open and the women take the opportunity to make themselves heard. Octavia Spencer won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Aibileen's friend, Minny Jackson, an outspoken maid who finds it difficult to get work after being fired and eventually decides to share her experiences with Skeeter.
Francis Ford Coppola's reconstruction of life in the famous 1920s Harlem jazz club stars Richard Gere stars as Dixie Dwyer, a trumpet player who saves a gangster's life and becomes unwittingly involved in the world of organised crime. Caught between the mobsters and the musicians, Dixie rubs shoulders with the likes of dancer Sandman Williams (Gregory Hines), club owner Owney Madden (Bob Hoskins), and tough guy Frenchy Demange (Fred Gwynne), all the while having a dangerous affair with gangster's moll Vera Cicero (Diane Lane). The film merges the musical with the gangster film and captures the period with detailed sets, lavish costumes, and a rich musical score.

Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) is a family man cop who is about to turn fifty. Following the death of his wife, Riggs has become a manic loner who no longer cares whether he lives or dies; an approach which causes more than a few problems as he and Murtaugh attempt to bring the General to justice.
