Among medieval studies, one of the areas of debate is whether
consequences arose from dialectic or from Prior Analytic
commentaries and the place of metaphysics in this development. The
following work investigates this development using modal
conditional semantics and consequences. The work suggests
conditional syllogistics led to the rise of consequences from both
dialectic and developments in conditional expressions. Due to
Aquinas' emphasis upon metaphysics and his use of conditional
expressions, Aquinas is an exceptional source for a scientific
investigation. The following work illustrates Aquinas' modal
conditional semantic metaphysics and its relation to consequences
within its Parisian context. The focus is specifically on the
metaphysics of modal semantics in hypothetical modal conditional
enunciations and syllogistics using the topic from definition. This
scientific investigation contributes to the history of logic, the
relationship between consequences, dialectic, metaphysics, and
modal conditional expressions, and contemporary analytic research
in conditional logic, language, and semantic theories in
intensional logics.
