The proceedings volume provides an account of the pandemic-inspired
policy changes in  leadership, entrepreneurship, and
sustainable development. The volume is a collection
of papers presented at the 2022 International Leadership
Conference hosted by the Prague Institute for Qualification
Enhancement (PRIZK), Czech Republic. The focus of the conference
was to outline positive changes for  leadership in business
and economics based on the lessons learned during the
pandemic. The enclosed selection of papers describe the
digital surge in business, economics, and education, as well as the
development of frontier technologies caused by the COVID-19
lockdown periods. They also provide new insights into the concepts
of leadership, entrepreneurship, and sustainable
development post the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, the papers
define the new place and role of leadership within the context of
global initiatives in sustainability such as the European Union's
Green Deal and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals
(SGDs).
This proceedings volume examines leadership from the perspectives
of business, economics, social sciences, cross-cultural management,
and education as a means to establish a future of sustainable
development. Featuring contributions from the 2017 Prague Institute
for Qualification Enhancement (PRIZK) and International Research
Centre (IRC) "Scientific Cooperation" International Conference held
in the Czech Republic, this volume focuses particularly on business
models and higher education schemes from BRICS nations and examines
topics such as social and educational practices, academic policies
and business development. Leadership is becoming a key element for
the future sustainable development of business and education in the
quickly globalizing world. In this regard, a special emphasis
should be made on the formation of high-quality human resources-the
leading experts in their field who will create innovations and
introduce breakthrough technologies. The development of a creative
economy and knowledge economy requires highly-educated human
capital, thus education becomes a key element of this process.
Education must keep pace with time, be competitive, and stay in
touch with the process of technology. The enclosed papers identify
the key steps for sustainable growth and development in business
and education. Featuring contributions on theory and practice, this
book is appropriate for academics, researchers, policy-makers and
practitioners in the areas of business, leadership management,
entrepreneurship, innovation and education.
This proceedings volume focuses on the business models and higher
education schemes in various countries that drive sustainable
development. Specifically, it combines different approaches to
issues such as social practices, educational practices, academic
policies, energy, sustainable growth, R&D and global security
from the point of view of academics, entrepreneurs, policy-makers
and NGO representatives. Featuring selected contributions presented
at the 2018 PRIZK International Conference on Entrepreneurial and
Sustainable Academic Leadership (ESAL2018) held in the Czech
Republic, this book combines contributions from both theory and
practice providing a unique toolbox of policies for entrepreneurs
and academics alike. Our quickly globalizing and stratifying world
is marked by such processes as economic interconnectedness,
digitalization, micro targeting and spillover causation. In such an
environment, there is a great need for strategies and tools for
securing future sustainable development in both business and
education. In this regard, leadership is one of the crucial
elements in achieving these goals seemingly and simultaneously. The
goal of the 2018 PRIZK International ESAL Conference and the
enclosed contributions is to explore different strategies and
policies that drive sustainable development in entrepreneurial and
academic leadership.Featuring research from fields such as
business, economics, education, social sciences, psychology and
behavioral sciences, this book is a useful reference for students,
academics, scholars, researchers and policy makers in leadership,
entrepreneurship, education and sustainability.
Social Impacts of Smart Grids: The Future of Smart Grids and Energy
Market Design explores the significant, unexplored societal
consequences of our meteoric evolution towards intelligent,
responsive and sustainable power generation and distribution
systems-the so-called 'smart grid'. These consequences include new
patterns of consumption behavior, systems planning under increasing
uncertainty, and the ever- growing complexities involved. The work
covers the historical impact of the transformation, examines the
changing role of production and consumption behavior, articulates
the principles and options for socially responsible smart grid
power market design, and explores social acceptance of the smart
grid. Where relevant, it examines adjacent literatures from P2P
electricity markets, electric vehicles, smart homes and smart
cities, and related 'internet of energy' developments. Finally, it
provides insights into mitigating the likely social consequences of
our integrated low-carbon energy future.
