Numa Jay Pillion was three when he first learned of death-that we eventually die, and our bodies are put into the ground to be consumed by worms. The idea depressed him to the point that he attempted suicide on two occasions. If life was going to end, he wanted to get it over with. An inner presence caused him to hesitate, however, and he eventually decided to accept life for what it would offer. At twenty-six, Numa's landlady told him about reincarnation. From that moment on, his spiritual learning never ceased. He studied theosophy, became a member of the Rosicrucian Order, attended Unity Church services, and studied spiritualism, hypnosis, the power of the mind, and the works of Edgar Cayce. He did not restrict himself to any one school of thought. Perhaps his learning was the result of divine guidance; perhaps he was just eager to learn. Now eighty-one years of age, Numa passes on some of what he has learned in this book. He hopes that in doing so, he'll save people from the pain he suffered when he believed that death was the end of everything. Fear of death is a negative force that holds us back, causing us to live a negative, even hostile existence. Take the fear out of death, and we can begin to live a fuller life. To those who follow the light within, the Bible states, "By your faith be it unto you." To those with spiritual eyes, the answer is, "When the pupil is ready, the master appears."
When you have psychic abilities from the age of four, it can be a
blessing as well as a curse. Jeanne Marie Martin was born in the
French West Indies and raised in the inner city of Detroit and its
suburbs. From childhood she communed with angels and spiritual
beings and they gave her visions, dreams and insights into her
lives ? past, present and future. She blossoms from an abused,
terribly shy child into a confused and tormented teen into a
determined young woman who desires nothing more than to heal her
life. Jeanne Marie suffers through horrendous health problems and
near-death experiences to become a powerful woman whose goals
include helping the human race to heal their bodies, minds and
emotions and transform their lives spiritually.
This book is based on real life experiences where the possibility of the living being able to communicate with the deceased is investigated. The belief in reincarnation and life after death raises a tantalising question: Can the living communicate with the dead? Most churchmen and scientists are sceptical, but many people, including churchmen and scientists, believe such a thing is possible. The belief in the immortal soul is a dogma of Christianity (resurrection), Hinduism (reincarnation or samsara), Islam (Day of Judgement), Judaism (sheol), and the Shona (NyikaDzimu). Moreover, man has been familiar with the concept of life after death since time immemorial. Immortality has been rejected by those who feel its only basis is wishful thinking - that when the body dies, the personality dies with it because it is part of the physical body. Believers can cite the resurrection of Jesus, and maintain that since life on earth is not completely fulfilled an afterlife is necessary for completion. Another argument in favour of an afterlife is that since matter and energy may be transformed but not destroyed, neither can personality, which exists just as do the elements in nature, be destroyed. In many of the ancient societies, including Egypt and Greece, dreaming was considered a supernatural communication or a means of divine intervention, whose message could be unravelled by those with certain powers. In modern times, various schools of psychology have offered theories about the meaning of dreams. In Communication with the Deceased is meant to serve only as a basis for reflection in order for the reader to examine all the clues and then derive further meaning from specific circumstances of his/her own dreams. To be able to interpret a dream, one does not need to have an academic degree in psychology. What is important is to use one's instinct and common sense. Try to develop your own personal insights into what the common symbols in your dreams mean. When it comes to dream symbols, there are no equivocally universal rules or meanings. Dreams dictionaries help by providing hints at the meaning of symbols that appear in one's dreams. This book is of value to those studying psychology and those participating in psycho-analysis groups. Those who are curious to understand their dreaming habits will find the book useful in trying to decipher some symbols that appear in their dreams.

What is reincarnation? It is the idea - and some would say fact - that after we die we come back again and live other lives. It is also the idea that we may have lived previous lives as well. The reason is that the world offers us the chance to grow and to learn based on the many physical challenges it offers. When we have learned and progressed enough, through numerous lives, it is said there will be no more need to return. This book is one of the best introductions available on the subject. It covers the various cultures that accept the idea and what it really means to us, as individuals. Those who are steeped in pure logic reject the idea of reincarnation due to the lack of strong scientific evidence. They fail to realize that one cannot present spiritual proofs in a laboratory. Matter itself and the material world can show physical evidence - but spirit and matter are two separate things. Despite this, one still might ask: Where is the proof for reincarnation? One good answer, and a great starting point, is to open this book. Another is to search out and explore your own past lives. Spiritual proof exists for those who can comprehend it.

Does the soul survive death? Are we reborn again and again, and can we access the knowledge and the memories acquired in earlier lives? Followers of New Thought, the early-20th-century "New Age" philosophy, believed so, and here, in this 1908 book, William Walker Atkinson, one of the most influential New Thought voices, explores the concept of reincarnation throughout history, from the Egyptian idea of the soul through Plato's teachings on the subject and on to modern spiritual outlooks on eternal life. With arguments and proofs supporting the idea that the soul is a "traveler on a long journey," this is a fascinating look at a question that has haunted humanity since antiquity. American writer WILLIAM WALKER ATKINSON (1862-1932) was editor of the popular magazine New Thought from 1901 to 1905, and editor of the journal Advanced Thought from 1916 to 1919. He authored dozens of New Thought books under numerous pseudonyms, some of which are likely still unknown today, including "Yogi Ramacharaka" and "Theron Q. Dumont."
