Books > Mind, Body & Spirit > Mind, body, spirit: thought & practice > Reincarnation & past lives
This book is the result of seven years' research and several thousand case histories through which the author has been able to peer into the deep inner life of the soul as it reincarnates from life to life, both as a guide and an observer. While studying Evolutionary Astrology with Jeff Green, regression therapist Patricia Walsh realised that the potent combination of the two disciplines could help to resolve current issues which have their roots in past life experiences. The types of issues that arise in past life regressions to be healed are also the exact dynamics that Evolutionary Astrology aims to describe: * To understand the past security patterns, emotional and mental imprints that have conditioned the consciousness previous to this life. * To point the way to the path of evolution beyond these. Regression work adds to the understanding of issues presented in the natal chart This book is not written in a 'multiple choice' style. It will become apparent that the understanding of previous lives is not such a simple matter as a few keywords or thoughts relating to one or two symbols in the chart. Rather, this book is written like a journey through the archetypes, from the depths to the heights of each, and is meant to be read in that way, sequentially from Aries to Pisces. Once the elements of the karmic axis in a chart are understood, all the related archetypes in this book can be read in relation to a single chart and synthesized to give a whole picture.
"Then came Neil Freer (who) undertook a different kind of mind-boggling task. If all that I had concluded was true, he said, what does it all mean not to the human race and the planet in general -- what does it mean to the individuals, to each one of us? He titles his new book God Games. But, if all the above is the Truth, it is not a game." Zecharia Sitchin (From the Introduction). This new book by Neil Freer, author of Breaking the Godspell, outlines the human evolutionary scenario far into the future. We are a genetically-engineered race with a dual racial heritage. Our half-Terran, half-alien genes place us on an accelerated, unique evolutionary path, already eagerly emerging from racial adolescence. Freer describes what's in store for us as this dawning genetic enlightenment reveals the new human and the racial maturity of a new planetary civilization on the horizon. We all can contribute to our racial future as we evolve from a slave species to far beyond what we could previously even imagine. The godspell broken, we new humans will create our own realities and play our own "god games." Once we understand our true genetic history we will eventually move beyond the gods, religion, linear consciousness and even death. The subtitle. What do you do forever?, inspires us to contemplate how things like four-dimensional consciousness, the realization of a Law of Everything and the option of immortality will enable the new human to determine his own evolutionary path. It is quite possible that great thinkers in the future will look back on this book, in particular, as being the one which opened the door to our full evolutionary potential and a new paradigm. Neil Freer is a brilliantphilosopher focused on the freedom of the individual and what it means to be truly human. This book will make you think in new and different ways. Accept the challenge of God Games and you will be greatly rewarded.
Why is belief in an afterlife so persistent across times and cultures? And how can it coexist with disbelief in an afterlife? Most modern thinkers hold that afterlife belief serves such important psychological and social purposes as consoling survivors, enforcing morality, dispensing justice, or giving life meaning. Yet the earliest, and some more recent, afterlives strikingly fail to satisfy those needs. In Inventing Afterlives, Regina M. Janes proposes a new theory of the origins of the hereafter rooted in the question that a dead body raises: where has the life gone? Humans then and now, in communities and as individuals, ponder what they would want or experience were they in that body. From this endlessly recurring situation, afterlife narratives develop in all their complexity, variety, and ingenuity. Exploring afterlives from Egypt to Sumer, among Jews, Greeks, and Romans, to Christianity's advent and Islam's rise, Janes reveals how little concern ancient afterlives had with morality. In south and east Asia, karmic rebirth makes morality self-enforcing and raises a new problem: how to stop re-dying. The British enlightenment, Janes argues, invented the now widespread wish-fulfilling afterlife and illustrates how afterlives change. She also considers the surprising afterlife of afterlives among modern artists and writers who no longer believe in worlds beyond this one. Drawing on a variety of religious traditions; contemporary literature and film; primatology; cognitive science; and evolutionary psychology, Janes shows that in asking what happens after we die, we define the worlds we inhabit and the values by which we live.
Is there truly life beyond death? What really happens when we die? Can the living stay connected with, or even help, their loved ones who have passed on? Answers to these questions have traditionally been sought for in Eastern religions but - perhaps surprisingly for some - they can also be found within the Christian tradition. In fact, such knowledge was prevalent in early Christianity, but was gradually suppressed and eventually forgotten.Turning to hidden - esoteric - sources that reveal lost meanings within the Bible, the Dead Sea Scrolls and other Gnostic texts, Hans Stolp and Margarete van den Brink describe the world of light that exists beyond death, and the 'seven steps' needed to progress through its realms. The authors draw on near-death experiences as well as the many profound personal encounters with deceased friends and family members described by people in recent times. With this knowledge, together with Rudolf Steiner's research, they offer answers to the following questions: - What is the world beyond death really like and what tasks await us there? - Why is love and wisdom gained in life on earth so important in the afterlife? - How can the living help or hinder the dead? - How do the departed themselves help loved ones who are left behind? - How does the Christ sustain the dead as they review their previous life and prepare for the next? This is an extraordinary guide to understanding what happens after death. It also offers invaluable advice on staying connected to our loved ones who have passed on.
Dr Wayne W. Dyer and co-author Dee Garnes had often talked about how the ones who know the most about God are those who have just recently been wrapped in the arms of the Divine: our infants and toddlers. In fact, Dee had an interaction with her own young son that convinced her of his acquaintance with our Source of being. Curious about this phenomenon, Wayne and Dee decided to issue an invitation to parents all over the globe to share their experiences. The overwhelming response they received prompted them to put together this book, which includes the most interesting and illuminating of these stories in which boys and girls speak about their remembrances from the time before they were born. Children share their dialogues with God, talk about long-deceased family members they knew while in the dimension of Spirit, verify past-life recollections, give evidence that they themselves had a hand in picking their own parents and the timing of their sojourn to Earth, and speak eloquently and accurately of a kind of Divine love that exists beyond this physical realm. This fascinating book encourages all of us, not just parents, to take a much more active role in communicating with our planet's new arrivals... and to realize that there is far more to this earthly experience than what we perceive with our five senses.

As surgeon, Cardiologist Dr. Maurice Rawlings has been there at the time patients were revived and has conducted many interviews of their near-death-experiences. He believes patients must be interviewed immediately after being revived or the person may block the horrific experience from their memory. By the next day, they often had forgotten their experience entirely. Others were unhappy to be brought back to life as they had entered an experience that was more pleasant than being on earth. Of those who died, went to Hell, and were brought back to life, they immediately praying for God's forgiveness for the way they had lived their lives. This eye-opening book: * Offers true stories of patients who experienced Hell after dying on the operating table and being resuscitated * Explores the dangers of the occult and channeling * Discusses end times prophecy, the New World Order, and what's happening in our schools Dr. Rawlings presents strong evidence that there is life after death through this collection of true and chilling stories of people who have clinically died and endured the very fires and torments of Hell. In these lectures Steiner deals with the experiences of the human soul during and after death. On the basis of precise clairvoyant observations, he describes the events experienced during the millennium of the soul's journey within the vast realms of soul and spirit between death and rebirth. Steiner describes the states of consciousness experienced by our deceased loved ones and how we-by considering their new consciousness-can communicate with them and even help them. Reading these descriptions, it becomes clear that excarnated souls need the spiritual support of those presently incarnated, and that those still on earth, in turn, derive enlightenment and support from their former earthly companions.
Containing a wealth of material on a variety of subjects, Light for the New Millennium tells the story of the meeting of two great men and their continuing relationship beyond the threshold of death: Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) - the seer, scientist of the spirit, and cultural innovator - and Helmuth von Moltke (1848-1916) - a renowned military man, Chief of the General Staff of the German army during the outbreak of the First World War. In 1914, following disagreements with the Kaiser, Moltke was dismissed from his post. This led to a great inner crisis in the General, that in turn drew him closer to Steiner. When Moltke died two years later, Steiner maintained contact with his excarnated soul, receiving communications that he passed on to Moltke's wife, Eliza. These remarkable and unique messages are reproduced here in full, together with relevant letters from the General to his wife. The various additional commentaries, essays and documents give insights to themes of continuing significance for our time, including the workings of evil; karma and reincarnation; life after death; the new millennium and the end of the last century; the hidden causes of the First World War; the destiny of Europe, and the future of Rudolf Steiner's science of the spirit. Also included are Moltke's private reflections on the causes of the Great War ('the document that could have changed world history'), a key interview with Steiner for Le Matin, an introduction and notes by T. H. Meyer, and studies by Jurgen von Grone, Jens Heisterkamp and Johannes Tautz.

Back cover copy Over thirty five years of exploring past lives, the afterlife, the interlife and the spaces in between have convinced Judy Hall that we are not victims of circumstance, nor are we solely a product of karmic consequences. We are all following a soulplan which may be strewn with obstacles but which will ultimately lead to soul growth. So if you've been asking yourself why certain things have happened to you, the key may lie in other lives or in the space between lives - the interlife. More than half the world's population believe in karma and reincarnation; that they have lived before, died, and taken on a new body, and that the body and the life they lead has been created by their previous actions or by the contracts they have made with another soul. However, from interlife exploration, it is clear that there are souls who are still fulfilling a soul contract that is way past its sell-by date. There are also souls who have chosen to undergo a specific life experience not because of their karma but because they want to cultivate their soul or to offer service to humanity. In this wide-ranging book, Judy Hall encompasses the vast kaleidoscope of karma and interlife choices. The Book of Why explores: * how the soul reincarnates * death and the afterlife * the concept of karma * moving beyond karma * soul contracts * interlife choices |
