Books > Mind, Body & Spirit > Fortune-telling & divination > Fortune-telling by cards (cartomancy) > Tarot
The 84 oracles were first published in 1985. They were intended for
the experienced hand at divination, and have remained in widespread
demand ever since. I hope this fully revised edition, which
contains the same oracles but in less technical language, will
appeal to those only now setting out to explore fortune telling.
After a quarter of a century in use, I believe their following
justifies this major revision Apart from their plainer style, a new
Summary and in-depth Conclusion now accompanies each oracle. These
replace the earlier and limited Notes, and explain even the
smallest areas of interest. Together with extra and helpful
background material in the first three chapters, I believe these
sizeable additions will provide a more complete and user-friendly
tool of divination. Finally, and on a purely technical note, the
astrological aspects behind the oracles agree with the work of
Aleister Crowley in his dictionary of correspondences, Liber 777
vel Prolegomena Symbolica ad Systemam (etc.) published privately in
1909 and adopted since as a standard work of reference. Two of
those correspondences were amended in his 1944 edition of The Book
of Thoth. In that book Crowley made a fundamental error in his Key
Scale of the tables, incorrectly assigning Aries to Tarot trump
XVII and Aquarius to trump IV, whereas, and by his own admission,
they should be counterchanged. Fearing more hawk-eyed diviners will
question my choice of attributions, I thought it safest to explain
in advance.
Here is a real breakthrough in interpreting the tarot! If you've
ever been intrigued by the tarot but were confounded by the
complexities of multi-card spreads and the vague interpretations
given in most books, this is the guide for you. You don't have to
know anything about the tarot in order to use this book. Nor do you
have to memorise the meaning of the cards or understand their
esoteric significance. All you need is a pack of tarot cards and a
question. The rest is easy. With TAROT MADE EASY it is possible to
interpret the meaning of any card and apply it to the particular
circumstances of your life. You need only choose just one tarot
card and then consult one (or several) of the 32 categories listed
under each card - including romance, travel, career, finances,
friends and special guidance - to discover the cards specific
message for you. Follow the basic spreads for a full tarot reading.
Want to delve deeper into the concepts that made The Wildwood Tarot
wildly popular? This workbook further explores those powerful
ancient traditions. Wild Magic invokes the power of the Wildwood -
the Green Man and Green Woman, as well as all the living archetypes
of the forest, such as Herne the Hunter and Robin-in-the-Hood.
Journey across time to the pre-Celtic world where primal forces, in
the guise of animal, bird, and fish, roamed free and opened
doorways into the otherworld of the Ancestors. With chapters on the
Lore of the Wild, the Wheel of the Year, shamanic methods of
examining the wild, and meditations designed to enable personal
encounters with Wildwood archetypes, as well as newly crafted
rituals enabling readers to celebrate festivals such as the
Midsummer and Midwinter Solstices, the book takes a fresh and
informed look at a set of ancient traditions applied to the
present.
At a time when we seek a closer connection with the natural world,
this beautiful deck invites us to celebrate the earth and the
rhythm of her seasons. Combining the two fundamental spiritualities
of Nature - Wicca and Druidry - Philip and Stephanie Carr-Gomm,
together with artist Will Worthington, have created a tarot of
extraordinary depth and relevance to help guide and illuminate your
life. The powerful images have emerged from a vast store of
teachings and story-telling rooted in our ancient past. Use them as
gateways to your inner spiritual world, and deepen your knowledge
of yourself and of the earth. Let the natural wisdom of DruidCraft
bring you insight and inspiration for the life issues that you face
today.
Most tarot books explain the meaning of the cards and how to read
spreads. In Tarot: A Life Guided by the Cards, I go one step
further - using events from my life to illustrate the rich
symbolism of each card and helping the reader see how they relate
to their own life and circumstances. I have an extended section on
the court cards, which are the characters of Tarot. Understanding
these cards is a fascinating way to better know yourself, other
people, and to add real colour to your readings. I also cover some
big tarot questions: What is fate? Can the future be predicted? How
to read for yourself in difficult times. How to adjust a Tarot
spread to ensure accuracy and reflect any situation. Safeguarding -
what you need to consider when reading Tarot for others. How to
guide your life with the tarot. Think of my book as a long chat
with a Tarot expert, shared over a cup of coffee. As I share
memories, answer your questions, and offer you practical guidance
to support your Tarot journey.
The Tarot Bible teaches you everything you need to know about
tarot, including how to choose the right pack of cards and how to
ask questions. It features interpretations for every card of the
Major and Minor Arcana, practical advice on how to give readings
and how you can use tarot in combination with other divination
techniques such as numerology, astrology and crystals. The book
also features over 30 tarot layouts that you can use to gain
insights into yourself, your relationships and your future.
IN 1909, ARTIST PAMELA COLMAN SMITH, under the direction of Arthur
Edward Waite, created an innovative 78-card tarot deck that would
come to be recognized as revolutionary. With descriptive pictures
on the 56 minor Arcana cards, the Rider-Waite deck digressed from
the tradition of tarot decks used for centuries and set the
standard for nearly every tarot deck published.
