The map of Folegandros by Anavasi editions in a scale of 1:18 000
depicts with detail the beautiful footpaths of the island with
their corresponding signposting. Field work on Folegandros was done
during the Spring of 2016. Folegandros is a walking paradise with
short footpaths ending up in beautiful remote beaches. Start
walking and you will be so amazed that you will want to walk to the
next bay. See the detailed footpaths descriptions with pictures and
text on the back of the map. A small plan of Chora, the town of
Folegandros, completes the map.
Tinos island landscape is like a hand made embroidery. Rural huts,
dovecotes, churches, terraces and villages are woven into a net of
trails. In the first edition of the map, along with my partner
Charles Merlin we have recorded several dozens of kilometers of
footpaths. From then until the present second edition, Charles made
a bet and target to enrich the map in paths, - and put in the game
and his friend George Kennedy. Actually the recorded paths,
doubled, and plenty of churches, bridges, huts, dovecotes were
added beside the paths. Along with the improvements in topographic
background and color palette, the map of Tinos has reached very
high standards - because we don't like the easy path. On the back
side there are several proposed hiking trails with short
descriptions and updated information for marking of the paths.

Anavasi has met the challenge of producing small-scale but still
very accurate maps. The map of Peloponnese figures 200 meters
contour lines and has a shaded relief. The dense road and
settlements network, the Archaeological sites, the monasteries,
beaches, campings, mountain refuges and the course of the E4 trail
are accurately recorded on the map. On the back side of the map

hiking maps at scales varying from 1:50,000 to 1:10,000, with a UTM
grid for GPS users. Contour interval varies depending on the scale,

information on the terrain. Place names are given in both Greek and
Latin script. Local footpaths, hostels and mountain huts are
clearly marked. For road users intermediate driving distances and
petrol stations are shown. Symbols highlight places of interest,
including archaeological sites, churches and monasteries, etc. The
maps have a UTM grid and margin ticks for latitude and longitude.
Map legend includes English. In this title: a double-sided map,
extending from Sparta to the eastern coast. Contours are at 10m
intervals. The map has a 1km UTM grid and an index of local

Cycling fans obsess about climbs and big mountains. They love
reading about their tests and tribulations and they love to ride
them - a cricket lover can never bat at Lord's, or a football
supporter score at Wembley, but any rider can take on the challenge
of an iconic mountain. This is Geraint Thomas's inside guide to 25
of the greatest cycling climbs in the world. -- Cyngor Llyfrau
