The Tennessee electric chair was installed in 1916 changing the way
executions were performed. Up until this time the gallows had been
used for all those who were guilty of crimes that demanded the life
of the perpetrator. Now there is a more modern way to put criminals
to death. The electric chair pumps 2300 volts of electricity
through the body of those who are unfortunate enough to set in it.
From 1916 through 1960 a period of 44 years there were 125 men who
were put to death in the chair. Of the 125 men 85 were black and 40
were white. This book gives the details of 43 of these men, 21
white men and 22 black men. The details of the crime along with the
details of the execution is writer in this book. These are the
genuine facts, real names of both victim and perpetrator are
