James Salerno, Boxer is a hard hitting true story in the mold of a
Greek tragedy, with the world of the fight game as its backdrop. It
pulls no punches in describing Salerno's wars in the ring, his
experiences with the women he encountered and the battles he fought
with his personal demons. It also provides insight into the world
of professional boxing. In addition, it examines the complex
personality of a loving, sensitive white male who had the soul of a
black fighter and became a rap performer known as Italian Ice after
his days in the ring were over. He is recognized as the greatest
boxer who never won a championship, and was inducted into the
Florida Boxing Hall of Fame in June, 2014. James was murdered at
the age of thirty eight, but he became a legend... and legends
never die.
