Jack Morris is hiking in the woods of western Washington when his
peace is disturbed by the sound of a truck entering a clearing. He
ducks for cover and observes a container truck and two SUV's
parking in the clearing. Soon two sedans and a helicopter arrive
and 18 or 20 armed men distribute themselves around the clearing. A
hawk spies a chipmunk and pounces on it and startles one of the
gunmen. His finger flinches on the trigger and soon the clearing is
bedlam. It turns out that all the bad guys kill each other and Jack
doesn't want the contraband to just get found by anybody, so he
gathers the weapons, the money and the wallets and throws it all in
the back of the truck and drives away. The money guys, the drug
guys, the DEA and law agencies are looking for who did it, but they
don't know where to start. Jack enlists a colorful array of
characters to help him escape prosecution, with a few twists and
turns along the way. Find out what the title means and how he
escapes prosecution by reading "Kandu."
